Who: Skoll and Sol
When: Friday morning
Where: Skoll's place, and then RUNNING
Ratings/warnings: tbd
This was getting ridiculous. Sol had been had captive for so long she had given up any chance of her fellows coming for her. She supposed she deserved it, considering she had distanced herself and didn't like being social. Or overly friendly. So when it came down to it, she decided she deserved this. But that doesn't mean she liked it! In fact, it was starting to drive her nuts being locked inside all the time. Day and night, with nothing to do but stare out the windows for a glimpse of her beloved fiery sun. Today was just like the days before.
With a frustrated grunt, she came out of 'her room' and approached Skoll with a fierce look. "You will take me outside. Now. I want to go outside and feel the sun on my skin again. I should not be inside all the time, you know that."

Skoll raised an eyebrow at her face and demanding tone. "Will I, now?" he asked, crossing his arms. "You want me to take you on a leash, little Sun? The second we set foot outside, you'll run until the light runs out."

Sol crossed her arms in return in an attempt to look a little tougher. Small though she was, she was quite fierce. It came with being Norse. "Yes, you will. Because you don't want me going crazy on you. That's what's happening to me. I'm going crazy being stuck inside all the time." She scowled, "You will not put a leash on me. I am not your pet." She wouldn't deny trying to run, though.

Seeing her like that reminded Skoll of a phrase he'd seen in a book once. He did actually read, despite the fact that most people's immediate impression of him was 'big, tough, and dumb'. He'd read a women described as 'tiny, but fierce', and that was Sol to a T.
"Fine," he said. "Fine, we'll go outside, and you can feel the sun on your face again. But if you run, little Sun, I will chase you down. Around the world, if I have to."

Sol wasn't about to lose this little battle. If you could even call it that. She would push and push until she got what she knew she deserved. It would take hours before she caved and begged for what she wanted. What she needed.
When he agreed, her demeanor changed immediately. She smiled and didn't waste any time pulling her shoes on. "Let's go. Come on," she said, pulling on his arm as she hurried to the door eagerly.

Skoll hid his smile and grabbed his keys, locking up behind them and letting her pull him along toward the door that led outside. He had to admit, it would be nice to be outside for a couple of hours, spending too much time inside tended to make him cranky too.
Once they were outside, the warmth and light on his skin lifted his mood a bit. He turned to her and asked, "Feeling better, little Sun?"

The moment Sol stepped outside she breathed in deeply. She felt the sun wash over her, the bright light welcoming her back into the world in which she belonged. Not in that cramped apartment where she had been held captive for months. (Though she may not admit it, but she had started to think of it as more of an extended stay.)
Everything about her seemed to shine now that she was outside. It was like the was literally soaking in the sun. She nodded once at his question, "A little." She looked around, knowing exactly where she wanted to go but not entirely sure which way to go. "The park. I want to go there. Grass..." she said a little absentmindedly, though her intentions were obvious.

Now that they were outside, all of Skoll's instincts were on the alert, watching for her to try and make her escape. He knew it was only a matter of when, not if. And he had no intention of letting her get away again. Still, he'd said they could go outside, and it couldn't hurt to play along for a while and take her to the park.
"This way," he said, jerking his head to the left. "There's one a few blocks from here. Lots of open space."

This time Sol wouldn't waste a good opportunity to be outside for as long as possible. If she had any intentions of running it didn't seem obvious. But naturally, she did. She was Sol, and he Skoll. It was in their nature. An unfortunately inescapable nature, but she just couldn't help the urge to run from him. Being with only him had given her a different perspective. That he hadn't devoured her gave her hope that he had no intentions of doing so. He was there nearly all the time and though she should probably view him as nothing more than a monstrous enemy, she no longer could. There was actually something very likable about him now.
She looked in the direction he indicated and started that way. Once again, she tugged his arm, never letting go. "We can run there," she said excitedly.

Skoll could tell that the dynamics had shifted in their relationship over the weeks that Sol had spent with him. Yes, she was still there against her will, but perhaps she wasn't quite as afraid of him as she had been? He wasn't really good with the whole subtleties and emotions things, but at least he didn't feel like crawling out of his skin if he stayed in one room of the apartment too long.
He smiled at her excitement. It was nice to see her smiling again, and he never turned down a run. "Last one there buys popcorn," he said, taking off at a run.

Sol wasn't sure if she could ever go as far as to call him a friend, but he was certainly bordering that now. If she knew the term, she'd probably say they were frenemies. It felt so good to move her legs again. The apartment allowed for minimal walking, so this was a treat.
She seemed a little stunned at his reaction, but quickly came to and started after him. Popcorn? She didn't even have any money so she hoped he was joking. As she ran after him she soon realized how out of shape she was. She hadn't ran in so long that she found herself breathing much harder than she should be. But that didn't deter her. Although they had been almost equal she couldn't catch up, but she kept going. Running until she saw him reach the grass, where she soon stopped and fell to the grass in a huff. "Not fair. You get to go out and run whenever you want."
