Title: Just Like A Gryffindor
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Rating: NC-17
Disclaimer: If this 'verse were mine, I would be rich. :p
Summary: Draco hasn't gotten over the war yet, but the real problem is that everyone else has. So when an old curse comes back to haunt him, maybe he doesn't resent it quite as much as he should.
A/N: Thank you so much to D for the speedy and awesome beta job, and of course to [info]gmth for running the fest - yet again - and for her infinite patience! Happy Christmas!

( Just Like A Gryffindor )

What a great premise! And what a great story, too - you made me laugh out loud with the fangirls, the Really Bad Sex, and the Are you producing spores? line. I loved the banter as well as the serious conversations and Draco's hilarious inner monologues. Loved your characters, including Portrait-Snape and McGonagall. I'll definitely be back after the reveal :) Thanks for the great read!

Now THAT was one hell of a story! Beautifully written and oh-so-perfect. If there were to be a textbook on how to write an engaging, believable and romantic HD story, this should be the number one example in it! And 20 million bonus points for making Portrait!Snape so perfect.

Wow.

this was a lovely take on magic and h/d. i've been just sick enough to have to stay inside and just well enough to be bored out of my skull (and pissy about missing the fine weather as it's summer here in nz). this was an excellent way to pass the time.

loved your snape, well all the characters really, but snape stood out. i'd gush more but my head is foggy from the cold so i'll leave it with a [*fangirls*]

I floved this story so damn much. It's hot and thoughtful and passionate and contains two gorgeous characterizations--and there's so much I love about it, I don't even know where to begin!

I love:

* Harry's characterization. Now this is my version of Harry: passionate and angry, engaged with life, yet struggling to make his peace with the war and its aftereffects, and so, so passionate. You make him into such a vivid, full-blooded character, it's easy to see why Draco falls so hard.

* imaginative use of magic and the curse scars: Love all the thoughts about feedback loops, energy feeding between a spell caster and his subject--all of which makes for great world-building as well as plotty goodness. I love both Snape and McGonagall's roles in the story too, explaining and subtly supporting the boys.

* Draco is himself here: pissed off, bitter, angry, vicious and witty. He's also wiser, realistic and reasonable--and you reconcile these two sides of him beautifully. I love how he falls for Harry and can barely admit it to himself, much less Snape, or even entertain the possibility of Harry returning his feelings. UST is pretty much my drug of choice. Then they kiss, and Harry turns out to be a tiger in the sack, and then Draco implies afterward (when Harry is thinking it's a one-off) that what they did had nothing to do with the curse scars!! This is a deeply fulfilling version of romance for me.

* Little details that felt right, like Narcissa's characterization, or Draco's complete inability lie, or the sexy bantering, or midnight Quidditch game of Fetch (great name!)--all things that added immeasureably to the fun, humor and joy of reading this story. You nailed the little details, and that's almost as important as nailing the big ones.

In conclusion, awesome story. Had so much fun reading it--was smiling the whole time!

I had much fun reading this and sniggered throughout the funny incidents like Draco's continuing escapes from Harry's bed more or less aroused. The idea of a link between the Sectumsempra scars and the caster was just fabulous. I don't believe I've read about it like that before. Well done!

This was a wonderful story. I loved portrait!Snape and the fact that Draco still had a mentorish relationship with him even after death. Very believable characterizations and dialog between H and D made this an easy read. I especially loved cuddly Harry. =)

As well as all the great things mentioned above, like portrait Snape, I loved their game of Fetch, and Harry being all grabby at night. Also, the image of Draco covered in flour was great. Good job!

I just read it and thought it was wonderful. I loved Draco here, his character and his reflections and his bad mood. It was Draco. And then it was Draco covered with flour (and the thing about his hair being the same colour) and I laughed. A lot. And Snape... I really liked that portrait!Snape. And you so managed to use the canon in a way that everything made sense! I just believed the scar-conection fenomenon. Oh, and it was hot when it had to be hot, and there was no "Are you sure?". And it was perfect.

Really, really great :D

Happy New Year.

EEEEEEEEEE okay, I'm just halfway through but I had to pause and give some feedback before I forget things.

First off - loving it!! So much! And now to switch to pointform:
1) Draco's voice. It is so strong and so agreeable to me, like. I love how you've written him - not too complex or smarty-pants, but definitely cunning and wonderfully wry. Or perhaps cynical? I like the idea of cynical!Draco in post-war, very much.
2) YAY HARRY IS SHORTER THAN DRACO. *cough* Moving on--
3) AHAHAH OH SNAPE. For some reason, I keep imagining him some some sort of insane parallel to Molly for the Weasley kids, like. He's so...matronly with Draco; is both endearing and pleasant, since now his portrait can relax and show his true self with his fellow Slytherins.
4) The whole debate of school houses, in fact. I love how Harry's so against the idea and Draco's so like 'bzuh? Wtf is wrong with you?' Very clever!
5) OH MCGONAGALL!! Goodness, I loved their little interaction with her at Hogwarts! So so very adorable!
6) OK, this line:
Potter tugged his t-shirt down, covering the strip of flesh between its hem and the waistband of his jeans.
HEE. BECAUSE YES.
7) Oh have to say (now that I'm drooling over the scene with them eating stew and scones OMG SO HUNGRY) is that if there's one thing I look for in H/D fics, it good, strong, steady banter. I love when Harry and Draco banter, they are the perfect balances for each other in that respect. And I'm really enjoying it in this! Their insults are witty and delightfully casual and familiar. Yum.
8)...oh what, sorry? Sex. Hot. Yes. Got distracted. *HEE*

AND PILLOW TALK AFTER OMG THEY ARE SO GOOSHY AND CUTE. NAWWW! Thank you so much!!

I loved this! What a perfect fic to end the fest with. I love, love H/D stories like this where they get closer and closer until one of them has an epiphany and it all changes again. I loved Draco's voice in this too. He was so snarky. And Snape! I loved his and Draco's relationship. It was an absolutely fantastic story!

This was really enjoyable!

I really liked the fact that Draco had a portrait of Snape in his room, and Harry's take on the whole sorting business.

It was refreshing that Harry was the one who tried to disabuse Draco of the idea that all you are what is your house stands for.

This is beautiful. Please let me know when the author is revealed for this one. All of the dialogue is terrific. I especially love the quote: "The heroes aren't the ones who do exactly what's expected of them - the heroes are the ones who make a critical choice at a critical moment that can change the course of events." Did you borrow that, or create it?

This is really, really good, and I don't even like this pairing. What makes it more than just porn -- although the porn was great, yea! -- is how you make it about Draco's development as a human being, coming to terms with the shades of grey, his own imperfect understanding and the complexity of human relations. This is a real *story,* if you know what I mean.

The magical connection between Harry and Draco through the curse scar is such a logical thing, it makes perfect sense! (One of those "OMG how come I never thought of this before?" moments ;) I really liked what you've done with it here, and how you allowed both Harry and Draco to mature very believably.
