Title: The Potter Files

Disclaimer: All characters are property of J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury Inc. Other concepts and likenesses belong to the creators of The Dresden Files (books and TV show).
Summary: Private investigator, wizard, thorn in many people's sides. Harry Potter's a jack of all trades.
Warnings: AU, plucky first person narrative, non-major (aka: minor OC) character death, accidental bottom!Harry :P Kinks include first-time, rough sex, dirty talk, rimming, wall sex and shower sex.
Author's notes: This is a weird AU amalgamation of post-DH HP canon and The Dresden Files, where I've picked and chosen the elements of HP to keep/change, the most obvious being that Malfoy = Muggle/Murphy. It's a strange mix of things you seem to like, [info]sansa1970 - detective fiction, Snape as a featured character and your fabulous list of kinks. The rest I kind of guessed at, and I hope you like it! You don't have to know The Dresden Files to follow, though those who do should recognise quite a few things :D

BEST! GIFT! EVER! And I'm so late now for practice. So late, but it doesn't matter. There's no way I could have stopped reading this halfway through. It was absolutely perfect. Perfect!

I've been craving good detective/mystery stories -- I can never get enough, but there just aren't that many written. I want to kiss your feet right now. Not just for indulging my craving for the genre, but for making it hilarious and satisfying and titillating, and for fitting every single one of my kinks into this amazing story.

Harry's first person POV rocked! I started making note of all the wonderful lines, but filled a page in less than ten minutes. This was classic: When I die, presumably Snape will pass onto whomever I deem worthy. I plan on picking someone I really dislike. They'll love him.

And speaking of Snape...you nailed him. Dead on. *smirk* He was just perfect, and his and Harry's "relationship" made me grin over and over. I love a side of reluctantfriend!Snape with my H/D. He doesn't watch the porn, but he rearranges it! *dies*

There are just no words for how much I love this. No words. Malfoy made the perfect DI, but much of that was due, I'm sure, to your clever characterizations, sharp banter, and scene crafting. He and Harry really do make the perfect team.

I'll never forget "Not Malfoy" and "Real Malfoy" and accidental!bottom Harry. God, I could gush forever, and I plan to write a lengthy rec for this -- it's not to be missed.

Thank you so much, Secret Santa. It's very obvious how much time and energy you put into crafting this. Know that you couldn't have given me a better gift. Merry Christmas! ♥ ♥ ♥

hee, YAY!!! I was SO RELIEVED that you liked it because I had NO IDEA what your feelings on pastiches, Teddy, Not!Draco/Harry and first person were, lol. I sooper sekritly infiltrated your flist, of course, to hunt out your interests :P You don't know how giddy it makes me that this made you want to read Harry/Teddy... and then I was the one urging [info]violet_quill to write the other one (I saw your comment, lol). And I am pleased to report that [info]lizardspots has talked me into writing a Harry/Teddy follow-up to this story... so in a way you'll get two stories for the price of one :D

And !!! you think I nailed Snape? That's such a compliment coming from a srs Snape fan such as yourself :) I was so running around like a chicken with its head cut off over him, because he's not a character I've ever really written and my inability to write him is what turned me off attempting a Snupin for you, lol. But lizard was my "Snape picker," so credit must go to her for smacking me upside the head when he got too nice (which he did once or twice, long before the Mobile Incident :D).

Thank you thank you THANK YOU for your glowing rec. You made me giggle with glee. Just <3 <3 <3 for being an amazing recipient - I LOVED writing this story for you, and coming up with a way to integrate all your kinks (hello, Not!Malfoy!) was a lot of fun :D
