Summary: Private investigator, wizard, thorn in many people's sides. Harry Potter's a jack of all trades.
Warnings: AU, plucky first person narrative, non-major (aka: minor OC) character death, accidental bottom!Harry :P Kinks include first-time, rough sex, dirty talk, rimming, wall sex and shower sex.
Author's notes: This is a weird AU amalgamation of post-DH HP canon and The Dresden Files, where I've picked and chosen the elements of HP to keep/change, the most obvious being that Malfoy = Muggle/Murphy. It's a strange mix of things you seem to like, sansa1970 - detective fiction, Snape as a featured character and your fabulous list of kinks. The rest I kind of guessed at, and I hope you like it! You don't have to know The Dresden Files to follow, though those who do should recognise quite a few things :D

BEST! GIFT! EVER! And I'm so late now for practice. So late, but it doesn't matter. There's no way I could have stopped reading this halfway through. It was absolutely perfect. Perfect!

I've been craving good detective/mystery stories -- I can never get enough, but there just aren't that many written. I want to kiss your feet right now. Not just for indulging my craving for the genre, but for making it hilarious and satisfying and titillating, and for fitting every single one of my kinks into this amazing story.

Harry's first person POV rocked! I started making note of all the wonderful lines, but filled a page in less than ten minutes. This was classic: When I die, presumably Snape will pass onto whomever I deem worthy. I plan on picking someone I really dislike. They'll love him.

And speaking of Snape...you nailed him. Dead on. *smirk* He was just perfect, and his and Harry's "relationship" made me grin over and over. I love a side of reluctantfriend!Snape with my H/D. He doesn't watch the porn, but he rearranges it! *dies*

There are just no words for how much I love this. No words. Malfoy made the perfect DI, but much of that was due, I'm sure, to your clever characterizations, sharp banter, and scene crafting. He and Harry really do make the perfect team.

I'll never forget "Not Malfoy" and "Real Malfoy" and accidental!bottom Harry. God, I could gush forever, and I plan to write a lengthy rec for this -- it's not to be missed.

Okay, so I generally am not into AU, especially not AU where Draco isn't even a wizard, but this was great (even though I'm not familiar with The Dresden Files). The world you constructed feels natural and not as removed from the canon world as many AU fics are; I'm actually finding myself wanting to know more about Gabriel and his merry band of werewolves and how they fare in their struggle for equal rights, as much as I don't agree with their methods... OTOH, I'm kind of glad you left that open, because it served to bolster the world as one with ongoing problems that might not always be in the forefront or on the characters' minds, which makes it feel more real.

Ornery ghost!Snape was fucking brilliant. And from this day forward I shall maintain that accidental bottom!Harry is the best kind of bottom!Harry. XDD

I have no idea what Dresden Files is, but this story was absolutely top-notch! Writing it from Harry's POV was quite successful, I think. I loved just about everything about it! I liked Harry and Draco's careers in this.....it fit them very well, and I just adored their banter. The sex was hot, of course, too. I have perhaps a handful of writers in my mind whom I think are capable of having written this story. I can't wait to see if I'm right about my number 1 guess.

I LOVED THIS!!!! Oh man, there have been a whole lot of amazing first person POV fics this holiday season. I was wary at first- Harry + first person?! D; but you make it work beautifully. Loved the Teddy bit- totally wanted more teddy ...and possible more Harry/Teddy *bricked*
This AU was perfectly done ♥ so good that it took me a bit to even realize it WAS AU!! Your characters were perfect and hilarious and I enjoyed your OCs as well (Felicity I mean). love it love it love it =)

Eeeeeeeeeeee. I've been thinking of watching and/or reading The Dresden Files and this totally just sealed the deal for me. I have no idea which parts were from the show and which ones were out of your head, but either way, I loved it! Excellent meshing of the two magical worlds, and I loved the slow build-up between Harry and Draco. Especially Harry sexing not-Draco TWICE. Hahahahahaha. Definitely one of the most well-plotted fics I've seen this season. Kudos!

Oh oh-- ok in the normal case I would _never_ have read this fic (because it's first POV and lalala... this'll teach me not to make that mistake anymore!) but I'm so so so glad I did because boy! I would've missed like the best fic of the fest otherwise. I love both this Draco and this Harry... and and there's absoutely nothing that I have to complain about in this fic. I just want to read more about this world and this Harry and Draco - now I'm sad I've already read this fic so I can't read it again not knowing how good it is already :(

I can't believe I how much I enjoyed reading bottom!Harry and non-magical Draco :) Not normally my bag, but it's so well done that my personal preferences were swept aside and I loved reading this.

I adore that Draco's personal ring tone (Draco - a macho, hardened policemen) is Girls Aloud :D I like the idea of Smith (a 'fucking psycho') watches Eastenders :DD I LOVE the idea of Snape moving Harry's porn around just to mess with him :DDD

I enjoyed the various plot threads and themes, which were thought provoking, and kept the story-pace going. As someone else mentioned, I like that not everything was cleanly resolved/not everything was explained, which was perfect for the naturalistic feel of the fic.

(Incidentally, I like how it felt like Harry and Draco were really British characters and the world they were living in is Britain. In a lot of fics, I feel they could be anywhere or it's a little too heavy handed, but the peppered references in this were light and timely. Kudos! *g*)

Meep, and now you've got me wishing there was more Dresden Files to come! I really enjoyed this - what sold me on the story was how you used Snape, (because I didn't much enjoy the sex scenes), the PoV was hilarious, you re-used TDF elements in a very clever way, and I just loved some of the ideas.

Also, I loved Malfoy as Murphy. And the mystery was cleverly played.

I enjoyed it!

Ok, I really HATE not being a mothertongue when it comes to reviewing BRILLIANT works like this one. I don't know where to start- the funny, compelling style? Harry's sharp and irresistible point of view? The original, perfectly thought plot? God, I loved every single line of this story! I swear, I just couldn't tear my eyes off the screen, especially during the "Teddy part" - I was really hoping that somehow Harry would forget his morality and give the poor boy what he needed.
Do I even want to try and describe how hot the sex was, and how much I laughed when Harry found out that he had fucked with Not Malfoy for two times? God, I love you for writing this.
The "sailor cursing" and the brilliant style is giving me hints about your identity, so I can't wait to know. Thanks for one of the best stories of the last MErry Smutmas! ♥♥♥
