Author's notes: I hope you enjoy the fic, [info]qotc. Merry Smutmas. :)

Harry smiled, cleaning his glasses off on the hem of his t-shirt before sitting down at the table. It had been a long day; Teddy seemed to be in possession of some never-ending energy source, and while Harry had great fun chasing him around the garden playing hide-and-seek and helping him dig for worms, he just didn't seem to share his stamina. He was only twenty four, but Teddy managed to make him feel like an old man, sometimes.

He watched, smiling, as Ginny fed little baby James across the table from him, cradling him to her chest and cooing softly as she stroked his hair. She was already six months pregnant with baby number two, and she glowed with it. Harry watched her, taking in the rosy flush to her cheeks and the almost unnatural redness of her lips. It was strange being a father, he thought. It had never been something he thought he'd be cut out for, but it worked. More than worked, in fact.

After a while, James pulled back and Ginny wiped a drop of milk carefully from his chin. "Good boy," she said proudly, lifting the baby and holding him to her shoulder to burp him.

"It's getting late," she said, and Harry surfaced from his almost trance-like state. "You should bring Teddy in, soon."

Harry looked at the clock standing by the far wall and shook his head. "Give him another fifteen minutes," he said, not wanting to disturb Teddy's play just yet. "It's still light out. I'll call him in at seven thirty."

Ginny raised an eyebrow, but didn't complain. She finished burping James and stood up. "I'm going to put James to bed, now. Hopefully he'll sleep for a few hours." She walked round the table and Harry also pushed himself to his feet. "Say night night, daddy," she grinned, standing beside him.

Harry smiled and took James' tiny outstretched hand, stroking the delicate fingers gently with his thumb. "Goodnight, James" he said, then leaned in to kiss him gently on the forehead. "Sweet dreams."

Ginny smiled at him, and Harry sat back down as she carried the baby upstairs to the bedroom. She looked exhausted when she finally reappeared. She took her seat again and exhaled heavily, blowing a lock of hair from across her face. "Next time, you can have the baby," she joked, running her hands over her swollen tummy.

Harry grinned and walked to the kitchen, placing the copper kettle over the fire. It had been a long day for both of them, and he could see by the look on Ginny's face how tired she was. He got two cups from the cupboard and the kettle from under the sink, and filled it with tealeaves. "You know, I've been thinking…" he said, pausing to give her time to reply as he looked for the tea strainer.

"Mmm?" Ginny said, looking down at her belly as she continued to caress it.

"About names." He turned to her and leaned back against the worktop. "How about Albus Severus if it's a boy?"

Ginny looked up and narrowed her eyes thoughtfully. "Why Albus Severus?" she asked after a while, tilting her head ever so slightly to one side, like a bird.

Harry shrugged. "They were both Headmasters of Hogwarts," he said. "And they were two of the bravest men I've ever known."

"What about Remus?" Ginny asked, quizzically. "Or Sirius? Surely you were closer to them than you ever were to Snape?"

Harry nodded. He'd thought about this. He'd known for a long time that he'd wanted to name the child after Dumbledore. It only seemed fitting. After everything Dumbledore had done for him, and for the Wizarding World as a whole, Harry felt he owed him that much. As for the second name – Sirius had been the first to enter his head. He had been one of Harry closest friends, after all – family, even – but it didn't seem right, somehow, and Harry couldn't quite put his finger on it. After several months of thinking, Harry realised that it only made sense for little Albus' second name to follow on from the first. Dumbledore had been a great Headmaster and a brave, selfless man, and Harry could think of only one other who fit that category.

He said nothing for a while, then Ginny looked down at her belly again and whispered "Albus Severus…" as if asking the baby what it thought of the name.

For some reason, Harry found himself holding his breath as he waited, watching Ginny's tummy in suspense, as if looking to it for a response. She looked up after a while, and Harry was relieved to see that she was smiling. She gave a small nod. "I think he likes it."

He let out the breath he'd been holding and beamed. "And do you?" he asked, wanting to make sure she wasn't just saying what he wanted to hear. "You can say no if you don't."

Ginny chuckled and nodded. "I love it."

Harry felt as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders, and he let out a small, relieved sigh. "Thank you," he said almost breathlessly, as the kettle behind him began to whistle. He turned and removed it from the fire, pouring it into the teapot and stirring the tealeaves around until it was brewed. When the tea was made, he carried the two cups over to the table and placed Ginny's in front of her, taking his seat, once again. "You look like you could do with a nap," he said after a while, as Ginny yawned and rubbed tiredly at her eyes.

She laughed, and nodded as she picked up her tea. "You're probably right. I think I might go up after I've finished this." She blew briefly at the tea, then took a sip. "Will you be alright getting Teddy to bed later, if I'm not up?"

Harry waved the comment off as if it were the silliest question she could have asked. "Of course I will," he said. "He's pretty well-behaved when it comes to bedtime, generally."

"Well, you'd better start thinking about bringing him in, then. It's nearly half-past."

Harry looked at the clock and nodded. He'd buy Teddy some time by finishing his tea first, he thought. He looked down at the discarded Daily Prophet on the chair beside him and wondered if Teddy had read the cartoons, yet. Ginny was always trying to get him to read the paper, sitting him down and reading along with him, but Harry knew Teddy was only interested in reading about Loafer the Talking Gofer. He smirked to himself and looked up. Ginny appeared to be looking at something over his shoulder, frowning.

"Harry," she said, pushing herself up from her chair and pointing to the window behind him. "Who's that?"

Harry turned round and looked out the window. Teddy was at the end of the garden standing by the open gate, talking to someone tall and slightly hunched. The figure was dark and hairy, and it took Harry only a moment to realise why. In a flash, he'd grabbed his wand from the side table and raced out the door, running up the garden path. "Teddy, come here quickly. Go back inside the house. Now."

Teddy turned to Harry, looking as calm and peaceful as ever. He obviously didn't know the danger he was in. "This is my friend, Mr. Wolf," said Teddy, smiling and pointing to Greyback, who had adopted a threatening stance the instant Harry had opened the door.

"Mr. Wolf isn't your friend, Teddy. Get back in the house." Harry held his wand out and aimed it squarely between Greyback's eyes. "If you've touched him, Greyback…"

"And what if I have?" the werewolf snarled. "He's rightfully mine, anyway, Potter. You know that."

"He has nothing to do with you, and if I find you've done anything to him, I swear to God, I'll make you regret it."

Harry's whole body was trembling. He wanted to look at Teddy, to make sure he was unhurt and unmarked, but he daren't take his eyes off Greyback. The other man laughed; it was a low, gruff laugh, hardly even human – it made Harry shudder with memories he'd long since tried to forget.

"He has everything to do with me, boy," Greyback barked. "His father was my pup. This cub belongs to me – to my pack. You know how that works, don't you, Potter? You're not stupid."

Harry's grip tightened on his wand. "He's not a werewolf," he said, defiantly. "He's not one of you."

"He's more werewolf than you'll ever know," the werewolf snarled angrily. "My blood is in his veins. It's been seven years since he was born, Potter. I've given him enough time. I want him."

Teddy was beginning to look scared, now. It was clear he didn't quite understand what was going on. He looked up at the snarling werewolf, then over to Harry. "I don't want to go away…" he said, quietly.

"It's alright, Teddy." Harry tried to reassure him, not removing his eyes from Greyback while he spoke. "You're not going anywhere. Go back inside the house and I'll make Mr. Wolf go away, instead, okay?"

Teddy took a step towards Harry, but Greyback grabbed him roughly by the arm and dragged him back. Teddy screamed and Harry's stomach flipped over. He couldn't let Greyback take him. He wouldn't let him.

He tensed his arm and opened his mouth to cast a stunning spell, but Greyback cut him off before he could utter the first syllable.

"I could kill him faster than it would take you to cast a single spell, Potter."

Harry froze and closed his mouth at Greyback's words. He could feel his arm begin to shake.

"You have two options," Greyback went on, a cruel, mirthless smile curling his lips and making his yellowing fangs glint menacingly in the fading sunlight. "Either, you let me take the boy, and I turn him painlessly. Or you cast your spell… and I rip his throat out."

Harry didn't know what to do. He wasn't prepared to risk Teddy's life, but he couldn't let him go. He was stuck. He stood where he was for some time, as if frozen to the spot, arm still outstretched, the knuckles on his fingers turning white. His mind raced for what seemed an eternity for anything he could do, and it was just as he reached the gut-wrenching conclusion that he had no idea what he could do that Greyback suddenly doubled over in pain, clutching his groin. Teddy slipped out of the werewolf's grasp and ran to Harry.

"Good boy," Harry said, panting, his heart in his throat. "Run back to the house, go find Ginny. Quickly."

He watched as Ginny ran from the house to collect him, moving as fast as she could with her belly slowing her down. Greyback howled in anger and frustration and James started crying from upstairs. The sound carried across the garden, and the howling stopped almost instantly. Harry turned back to face him and Fenrir smirked, a nasty, wicked smirk.

"Is that a baby I hear?" he asked, looking towards the open bedroom window.

Harry felt his entire stomach drop away. He had to get Ginny and the children out of here.

"HARRY!" Ginny called frantically from the door.

"Two babies," Fenrir went on. "The one inside her would be so fresh."

"Fuck you!" Harry snapped, taking a step closer and pushing the tip of his wand hard into Greyback's throat. "I'm going to make you sorry you were ever born, you disgusting, vile piece of shit!"

Greyback chuckled and Harry felt it vibrate through his wand and up his entire arm.

"HARRY!" Ginny called again.

"Get James and Teddy and Floo to St. Mungos," he shouted back, not removing his eyes from Fenrir's. "Get them to check Teddy hasn't been bitten."

"You could have stunned me by now, Potter," Greyback growled softly, smirking at him. "What's stopping you? Scared, little pup?"

"I'm not scared," Harry snarled back, his voice just as low and dangerous as Fenrir's. "I haven't stunned you because I'm gong to make you suffer." He paused, and pushed his wand harder into Greyback's neck. "And I'm going to enjoy it."

He didn’t think he'd ever felt a rage as intense and all-encompassing as this. Nobody threatened his family like that. He didn't care if what he was going to do was wrong; Greyback was going to pay for coming here, today. He would make sure of that.

He heard James' crying quieten down as Ginny took him from his cot. They needed to get to safety, it was more important than anything else. Harry turned so very briefly to make sure they were gone, and at the same time, felt something slam heavily into the side of him, hitting him like a tonne of steel.

His wand flew from his hand as he landed painfully on the ground, Greyback's rancid, hairy body pinning him down. He struggled under the elder man's weight, but Fenrir grabbed at his wrists and held them both in a single, clawed hand. He leant in close to Harry's face and breathed hot, rank-smelling breath against his skin. "Now what are you going to do, Potter?" he growled, rage and venom dripping from every word. "You cost me a cub. I should tear your heart out through your ribcage."

Harry said nothing, just continued to struggle, looking about for his wand. It couldn't have fallen far – if he could just get an arm free he could reach for it.

"But I'm not one to waste an opportunity when it comes my way," Greyback went on, and Harry saw him lick his lips. "There's something I've been wanting from you for years, boy. So ripe… so lean."

"Fuck you," Harry spat, twisting his torso in a vain attempt to dislodge Fenrir's great bulk. Fenrir laughed and reached down, sliding his hand over Harry's tensed stomach and hips, finding the hem of his jeans and laughing at the gasp that freed itself from Harry's throat. Harry could feel his heart pounding in his chest as Fenrir struggled with the fastenings of his jeans and wrenched them and his underwear down over his hips.

"I can smell you, you know, Potter," Fenrir whispered, moving close to Harry and sniffing intrusively at his neck and hairline. "You smell of fear. I love that smell."

Harry tried to lash out when he felt Greyback release his wrists, but the werewolf grabbed him by the shoulder and forced him roughly over onto his stomach before he could act. His face was in the dirt now, and he had to turn his head to the side to breathe. It was no use trying to push himself up; Greyback was on top of him and forcing him down, one hand clamped painfully tight on the back of his neck.

"Are you going to scream for me?" he asked, laughing gruffly into Harry's ear. Harry grit his teeth and narrowed his eyes angrily. If there was one thing he wouldn’t do in all this, it was give Greyback the satisfaction of screaming. He felt sharp claws digging painfully into his flesh and stopped struggling, his heartbeat reverberating through his entire body.

He felt a rumble through Greyback's body and braced himself for what was coming only a second before it did. His vision actually blurred with the pain as Greyback pushed brutally into him, forcing himself past tightly clenched muscle until he was all the way in. He pulled back again almost instantly, leaving no time for Harry to recover, before thrusting back in a second time.

Harry didn't struggle as Greyback fucked him, he knew better than to try and fight it – it would only hurt more. He closed his eyes as the werewolf plunged into his body again and again, pushing hot, dry skin over more hot, dry skin until it wasn't so dry, anymore. Harry could tell he was bleeding; every time Greyback forced his way in, it felt like rubbing salt into an open wound. His mind was howling in pain as the onslaught continued, but Greyback showed no sign of stopping. He inhaled deeply at one particularly painful thrust and choked as a load of dirt made its way down into throat. It was unbearable. After a while, as he felt his eyes starting to water from the pain, Greyback gave a great shudder that shook his whole body.

There was a bestial grunt next to his ear, and Harry felt the product of Greyback's orgasm, hot and wet, inside him. He shuddered, disgusted, and closed his eyes. He was glad Ginny wasn't here to see this. A fine job he'd done of protecting the family. He should have stunned Greyback when he'd had the chance. He winced and groaned as Greyback pulled out and rolled him back over onto his back. The rancid breath was in his face again and Harry suddenly felt very sick.

"Do you know what it is tonight, Potter?" Fenrir asked out of the blue. Harry looked up at him angrily, but said nothing. He didn't care what it was. All he could think about was where his wand had fallen. He had to find it.

The wolf smirked and leaned down to whisper in his ear. "It's full moon."

Harry's mind suddenly went blank. He turned to look at the sky and saw that the sun had set. The sky was a dark shade of blue and he could see several stars twinkling at him through the clouds. Fear gripped him so tightly he couldn't breathe, and he thrashed wildly beneath the werewolf.

"Do you think they'll find you in time, Potter?" Fenrir asked. He laughed, and it was all he had time to do before his body started convulsing with the change. Teeth that were too big for his mouth pushed their way from his gums, hair sprouted from all over his body, and his eyes, usually dull brown, glinted a sickly yellow in the moonlight.

He let out the most blood-curdling howl Harry had ever heard, and he closed his eyes tightly as Greyback lunged and a loud "STUPEFY!" was shouted from across the yard.

The wolf landed on top of him, heavy and stiff as a board, stunned and motionless.

Harry didn’t move for a while, just lay there staring into Greyback's unblinking, yellow eyes. It was only when he heard footsteps hurrying towards him that he realised he was lying on the ground with his trousers still around his knees. He didn't want them to see – whoever it was. He didn't want anyone to know. He slid out from under Greyback and quickly pulled his trousers back up, careful to avoid raising his eyes until he was dressed.

The silence told him all he needed to know, but he wasn't prepared to address it.

"Harry…"

No. He wasn't going to talk about it. Not now. He looked up at Kingsley, determined not to let it become an issue. "Where's Ginny?" he asked calmly, brushing the dirt from the front of his t-shirt.

"She… she's at St. Mungos." He was silent while Harry nodded, then spoke again. "Harry, are you…"

"I'm fine," Harry said, cutting across him. His jaw was set firmly. "How's G-"

"She's fine. Teddy is fine. James is fine."

Harry felt something in him uncoil itself from around his heart and he exhaled heavily, looking down at the floor.

"Harry, you need to go and get yourself looked at, there could be…"

"I said I'm fine!" Harry all but hissed. There was an edge to his voice and Kingsley promptly shut up.

Harry closed his eyes tightly for several moments, bowing his head, before looking up. He had things to do. He needed to go to them and let them know he was alright. They were not allowed to know what had happened. But he needed a shower first.

He looked down at Greyback for a while, then to Kingsley. "See he's dealt with," he said, his face expressionless as he caught the werewolf's eye. Kingsley nodded, and Harry headed towards the house to clean up.

I like how the horror of the fic is sprung upon us, interrupting the almost sickeningly sweet domestic scene at the beginning. And Harry's reaction at the end strikes me as very realistic both for a rape victim and for Harry in general. Well done and thank you for a wonderful gift.

I think that was very well done. The scene were Harry sees Teddy talking to Greyback -- contrasting Teddy's innocence with Greyback's aura of menace, all though Harry's reaction -- was very good. Greyback talking about Teddy being his was just chilling, and I think Harry's reaction at the end was perfect.

God, this was so creepy. I mean the contrast between the happy scene with Harry and Ginny and Teddy and the horror of all that suddenly being in danger. And, oh, Harry was so brave in protecting his family and doing whatever he could to make sure they were safe.

Well done and you made me shudder so much when Fenrir came into the story. He makes me so angry I want to put a bullet in him myself.

J. .~.

So dark and definitely creepy. Teddy's innocence is so noticeable when compared with Greyback's ferocity. Excellent work!~Sophia

The moment Ginny asked Harry who Teddy was speaking to outside, my blood went as cold. That was so very well done. And the sex, brutal, terrifying - when Greyback started to change under the moon, I had a horrible feeling Harry was going to be bitten, or worse. So glad Kingsley arrived in time!

Thank you for the intense read, mystery author! :) :)

This made me gasp in horror several times. Really dark, really effective. The warm, happy family atmosphere in the beginning contrasts so starkly with what comes next.

Harry's behaviour afterwards was so very Harry and made me want to cry, thinking that he's going to carry that secret inside him.

Very clever and very effective, to use this many stark contrasts - and your characterisation is so very good, it makes me want to sigh from bliss (or perhaps cry from the horror. Haven't decided yet). You did a really great job here!

Holy shit, that was creepy! Every parent's nightmare, but you did a wonderful job with it. Very nice characterizations, too, particularly Harry and Fenrir! However, I am a stubborn thing, and I will always insist that James' middle name is Sirius! :-P

Totally totally random and sorry for just interrupting in here, but reading your comment on James Jr' middle name...you were right! lol! It always makes me giggle when the fans are right in something like that. ;) Kudos to you for guessing right!

If you don't know what I mean, JK revelaed James middle name in the second generation family tree. ;))

That was one powerful tale! I made the mistake of skimming through it at first read, but the atmosphere only really hit me upon careful re-reading. The contrast between family idyll and horror was incredibly powerful, and watching Teddy with Greyback almost made my heart stop.

The rape scene was frighteningly effective - brutal, awful and the full moon threat at the end again left me flinching like heck. And Harry's reaction after was so, so believable, and still terribly tense in its ambiguity (*what* exactly he tells Kingsley to do with Greyback) and insecurity (what the assault will do to him mentally and especially whether he's been infected).

It also reminded me vividly of why Fenrir scares me to death...

Excellent, dark and terrifying fic (and yay, so glad to see a few more dark-as-heck pieces in this year's Smutmas, *g*). Thank you!

Omigod, FABULOUS non-con. Consider the kinks hit, but *also* the conscience bits, because you did this so very well. That's what I like about non-con. There's the dissonance between the "oh, hot" and the emotional response of sympathy and horror all tangled together.

Plus, Fenrir on Harry. What's not to love?

Oh, oh, this is nasty and I love it for that. Greyback is so much the boogeyman here, everything Harry fears befalling the innocents in his family.

Ooh, how creepy! I, too, loved the contrast between Harry's happy family life and the horror of the rape.

"Two babies," Fenrir went on. "The one inside her would be so fresh."

Am I too awful for laughing at this line? But it is just so very wrong! :D

Greyback was perfectly nasty and I found Harry very IC throughout. I love how the story is even epilogue-compliant. ;-) Good job!

Oh, how horrifying. *shudder*

Harry's reactions seemed very realistic throughout. Nicely done.

And as a mother of two boys, I have to tell you that I was hissing at the screen: "Teddy. Obey. Get. In. The. House. NOW."
