It follows the lives of the residents of Montclare who are teenaged counterparts of our beloved Marvel heroes. Mutants aren't on the public front, and are simply myths to Montclare. Most of the characters here are taken from the X-Men comics, however, characters who exist outside of Marvel's X-Men are also applicable. Public outcry against the acts perpetrated by the organization known as the 'Friends of Humanity' allowed several laws to be passed in favor of mutant rights. That was more than a decade ago, in that time the realm of politics has come to an impasse. Amidst the political stalemate there was a heavy push by many parents to have mutant children removed from the school systems, that ended with special schools being set up in most major cities. The Xavier School could no longer provide the necessary post secondary education for mutants. Ororo Munroe, the new head of the School, and Hank McCoy went before the Senate and House and asked that a second school be funded on the West Coast a University for continuing mutant education. Senator Raymond F. Donaldson, a democrat from California and the first mutant on the senate, helped to push the funding through. Thus the Xavier Memorial Institute was born. XMI is a College Level AU X-Men game set in modern day California. It is meant to be a place where OCs may flourish, new stories can be written and those who have moved to the west coast may begin again. The school grounds, commonly referred to as Mutant Island, house both a university as well as a training facility. It is also the facility which houses the mutant team Legacy. The game is open to mutants age 18+, canon and original characters are both welcome. The game hopes to combine the social and political aspects of life as a mutant with the dangers that come from living in a world where humans, mutants, and things only classified as 'other' coexist. LOOKING FOR A GAME! [Mon Nov 2009 @ 3:13pm] oro I'm looking to play Ororo Munroe (Storm) or Anna Marie (Rogue) no crossover games, please. I'd really like an 'old school' comic canon game where game play is paragraph play and not the new speed shot one liner type of crap that seems so common in Marvel games as of late. I have different styled posts and threads available for examples upon request (or if I decide to do an application). Game plot is necessary, room for character development a must, I have no problem working for my own SLs and have no problem asking permission from mods if I'd like to do a big thread, so please...for the love of my sanity, if there are any good Marvel games out there that sound like what I'm looking for, let me know. It's set in a world that looks very similar to normal comic-verse, but none of the more recent events like Disassembled, House of M, Civil War, etc. happened. We're looking at a more classic Avengers experience, while taking some modern trappings and making a pretty glorious hodgepodge of awesome. We're going for consistency here, not continuity! We're looking for a few characters like Daredevil, Elektra, Giant-Man, Spider-Woman, Wonder Man, Dr. Strange, the Vision, Araña, among others. You inhabit a fantastical universe where anything can happen. Super powered beings exist, and living a sane life is no easy feat for anyone. In such an extraordinary world, an average day can be ruined by the strangest of threats; be it viral zombies, megalomaniacal criminals or assassination attempts. All just part of a normal day in a very abnormal world. You don’t even glance up at the shrill whine of sirens or the roar of a giant monster a few blocks over. In the sky above a caped character is flying towards the fray; a member of some super hero team or perhaps a lone vigilante. Maybe the monster is a mythical creature or an invading alien or a minion of the latest super villain. A van is hurled down the street followed by another angry howl but you go casually about your business- buy your newspaper, sip your latte- and mutter cynically to yourself, "oh_marvelous." Oh Marvelous is an age 18+, social, thread based, third person, AU Marvel RPG played in real time (quite a mouthful). The game is set in present day, in locations all over the world. Plot is primarily player driven with occasional inclusive plots that affect the entire game. This game does not follow any set timeline or particular Marvel continuity. The setting allows players to introduce their favourite characters from any comic in whichever canon format they prefer.               THE DIVIDE OOC -//- THE DIVIDE COMMUNITY -//- THE DIVIDE INFO     RULES -//- F.A.Q. -//- PREMISE -//- WANTED -//- TAKEN -//- APPLY               On June 21st at 5:24 am, a group of heroes in opposition to the Super Human Registration Act breaks into a facility where a machine capable of transporting people to another dimension is being built. This device is key to the government's plan to build an impenetrable prison in another reality, where heroes refusing to register can be held safely. The rebellion succeeds in putting the machine out of commission, but unfortunately the uncontrolled destruction of the device leads to a tear in reality itself, displacing an as of yet unknown number of people- heroes, villains and civillians alike, ripping people from their own worlds and leaving them stranded, disorientated and confused, and even those apparently left untouched have been changed...                     Accepting applications for all comic characters! Unable to cope with a daughter raised to hate him, their mutual sonic powers threatening to destroy the ancient family home of Cassidy Keep when they fought, Sean sent her to Xavier's.
