Oh Marvelous: A Marvel Universe Game [Wed Nov 2009 @ 8:01am] ohmarvelousmod Oh Marvelous: A Marvel RPG "Did you ever have one of those lives?" You inhabit a fantastical universe where anything can happen. Super powered beings exist, and living a sane life is no easy feat for anyone. In such an extraordinary world, an average day can be ruined by the strangest of threats; be it viral zombies, megalomaniacal criminals or assassination attempts. All just part of a normal day in a very abnormal world. You don’t even glance up at the shrill whine of sirens or the roar of a giant monster a few blocks over. In the sky above a caped character is flying towards the fray; a member of some super hero team or perhaps a lone vigilante. Maybe the monster is a mythical creature or an invading alien or a minion of the latest super villain. A van is hurled down the street followed by another angry howl but you go casually about your business- buy your newspaper, sip your latte- and mutter cynically to yourself, "oh_marvelous." Oh Marvelous is an age 18+, social, thread based, third person, AU Marvel RPG played in real time (quite a mouthful). The game is set in present day, in locations all over the world. Plot is primarily player driven with occasional inclusive plots that affect the entire game. This game does not follow any set timeline or particular Marvel continuity. The Divide [Tue Nov 2009 @ 2:12pm] thedividemods         The Divide is a young but active and growing multi-canon Marvel/DC/Independent Universe hybrid game following an AU branch of the Marvel Civil War series. Public outcry against the acts perpetrated by the organization known as the 'Friends of Humanity' allowed several laws to be passed in favor of mutant rights. That was more than a decade ago, in that time the realm of politics has come to an impasse. Amidst the political stalemate there was a heavy push by many parents to have mutant children removed from the school systems. The Xavier Institute could no longer provide the necessary facilities for so many mutants, adult and child alike. Ororo Munroe, the new head of the Institute, and Hank McCoy went before the Senate and House and asked that a second school be funded on the West Coast. Senator Raymond F. Donaldson, a democrat from California and the first mutant on the senate, helped to push the funding through. Thus the Xavier Memorial Institute was born. XMI is an AU X-men game set in modern day California. It is meant to be a place where OCs may flourish, new stories can be written and those who have moved to the west coast may begin again. The school grounds, commonly referred to as Mutant Island, house both a high school and a university as well as a training facility. It is also the facility which houses the mutant team Legacy. The game is open to mutants age 16+, canon and original characters are both welcome. The game hopes to combine the social and political aspects of life as a mutant with the dangers that come from living in a world where humans, mutants, and things only classified as 'other' coexist. Some inroads were made, but Sean was frequently called back to Ireland by the demands of former cases and his position of Lord of the Keep. Going Strong 6 Months! [Sat Oct 2009 @ 10:12pm] isntverynice Marvel Universe You know many of the characters. Hulk, Iron Man, Spiderman, Wolverine, Elektra, Daredevil... they've become more popular in the last decade due to the rise of the Superhero movie, but they've been around for decades more. Captain America has been an icon since World War II. Many of us grew up on the Spiderman and X-Men cartoons. The Marvel Universe is where the characters of Marvel Comics exist. They are powerful heroes, but more importantly, they are fascinating characters! This Universe Marvel Team Up exists in an alternate Universe, based on the Marvel Universe. Marvel has the Ultimate Universe for some of the alternate stories they want to tell. The purpose of this Universe is to condense decades of complex and re-written backstory into a version of history that allows for the concept of the game, but also for fresh character interaction. The story takes place at Xavier's Institute, which receives grants from S.H.I.E.L.D. to educate young powered individuals and to teach them control of said abilities. The Professors and students (High School and Jr. College) are all famous Marvel Characters. Their histories may be a bit altered and abridged, but they are still the same characters at heart. team_up has been running for 6 mos and just had a major sweep, so we're looking for some active people to fill some rolls. Team Up has a good balance of drama, comedy, character driven plot, and new twists on some classic comic sagas. Check out our info at team_leader post comment

[Sat Oct 2009 @ 12:28am] anomali ANOMALOUS Rules x FAQ x App x Held x Cast x Contact/F-Button Started in July of '07, Anomalous was a long running game on GJ, and was also brought back on IJ closing somewhere during the summer of '08. We're currently retconning the premise, and we hope to start it again. PREMISE Welcome to a world influenced by power. There are no superhuman heroes, no dastardly villains here. You may be used to hearing stories of people joining secret teams and forming legions, flying around on planes, but this is not a comic book. This is a generation of gifted humans who, in the past six months, have lost their once normal lives. Some of these "mutations" were worse than others, but together they all are united in the fact that their lives will never be the same again. People began to notice things wrong with themselves. Wounds would heal faster, massive headaches would ensue, and suddenly they were in a different room. A man prayed to God that the next time he opened his eyes, his glance wouldn't destroy whatever fell within his gaze. This evolutionary jump wasn't just isolated to the United States. All over the world, people began to realize their true potential. Foreign governments are trying to recruit them to military forces, wanting nothing more than to control them. Scientists search out these special people, their intentions both good and bad. What was once considered normalcy has been corrupted. Questions with no anwers are on the tip of everyone's tongue: How, or why; are they connected? Is there a greater purpose, be it dark or light, that they must face? Already, some of these "freaks", as they were called, were using their powers for personal gain, and there was a concern that it would escalate. They would rob, they would cheat, and they would kill to seek vengence. Then there were those who tried to stay out of the limelight, frightened of their powers and the consequences that came with them. Some even found these powers as a way to gain attention, using them to save lives and get their name flashed on the evening news. These are The Anomalous - the changed, the powerful, the revolutionized. WANTED Anyone, and everyone is wanted and needed! We're retconning the game, so everyone is adored! Anomalous is a AU X-Men game, if you didn't notice from reading the above.
