[He's decided to hang around Sector 4 pretty much all day today with his roomie and his puppy, so if you happen to be out and about checking out the pets you might find Axel sitting with his back against a tree and tossing a couple of tennis balls out to a pile of puppies.

Pluto's among them with his easily distinguishable red collar, waggling his tail and barking even while the other puppies nip and playfully tug at his ears, and every time Axel throws the ball out to them they bark even louder and waddle along, becoming a squirming pile as they struggle to fetch.]

Heh. You guys are a riot.

[Axel doesn't respond right away and instead keeps quiet and stares at the puppy as he tilts his head curiously up at him. Of course he knows this dog...but it's just been so long since he's seen him.

After Xion's disappearance, well--Mars was returned to the pet cafe.]

...Yeah. [he says softly as he hesitates to reach out and place his hand on top of Mars' head.] I haven't seen him in a long time.

[ Wolfram stays silent for a brief moment himself. There is something Wolfram doesn't like about Axel's silence and hesitation, which needless to say he noticed, but for now he won't say anything about it. If Axel wants to speak about Mars he will do it when he feels like it.

In the meanwhile, as he waits for a possible further explanation, Wolfram brings up a hand to softly try to pat Mars' head. ] Look, he is happy to see you.

[Mars curiously sniffs at Wolfram as he hides a bit behind Axel before he eventually moves in and allows to be pat on the head. Axel watches, but doesn't say anything for a while again.

He can just see it. Mars is probably wondering where Xion is. Maybe he's been running around trying to find her now that he's out in the open.]

...Yeah. He is. [he says as he reaches over to scratch behind Mars' ears just the way he likes. It's nice to see him, of course, but the memories associated with the puppy have certainly dampened his mood a bit.]

[ Wolfram observes Axel silently for a while as the other pats the dog. It's a weird situation. He can feel the sudden change in Axel's mood and he can't pinpoint why would this dog be the one causing it. Unless....

He leans his head on the other's shoulder. The hand that was patting Mars' head moves to pat the head with red spikes of hair. Who knows if this will help but... don't be sad. It's just a hunch but he feel like this dog belongs or belonged to either Xion or Roxas because Wolfram knows they are the only one who cause this sort of effect on Axel. He wants to ask but he won't do it. As pushy as he is, he's always preferred to leave Axel alone when it comes to his Nobody friends.

He feels like he should say something-- but nothing feels appropriate. ]

[Axel looks over when he feels a hand patting him before he manages a little smile at least for Wolfram's sake. Him missing Roxas and Xion will never change, but that doesn't mean that he has to take Wolfram down with him when he's upset.]

Mars, look over there. [The puppy perks up to look at Axel and then in the direction he points where Pluto can be seen playing with the other puppies. Excitedly he wiggles his bottom in the air before he barks and bounds over to join them. Back when Xion owned Mars, the two dogs had been near inseparable, so it's no surprise to see them pounce on each other and proceed to roll about, tugging at each other's ears and nuzzling their heads.

They're all so carefree and clueless, only absorbed in a world that revolves around chasing their own tails and toys. If only things could be that easy.

With a sigh, Axel looks away from the dogs for a moment.]

Did you get a chance to see any of the other animals? [he asks, trying to change the mood again.]

[ Wolfram doesn't notice the friendship between Mars and Pluto– to him they are nothing more than puppies being playful together. Before Pluto he had never had contact with a dog before, so there are things he fails to notice that might be obvious to others.

As for the comment, he nods and lowers his hand to let it rest on one of his knees. ] I got to see a group of bunnies that here hopping all over the park. They are cute but definitely much more calm and scaredy compared to puppies, which don't seem to mind approaching people.

You gotta have patience, even with puppies. [Even Pluto had been a little afraid at first when Axel decided to take him home. Sure, Pluto had initiated and followed Axel around when he happened to be by the pet cafe that one time, but after that it took a lot of petting and such to get the puppy to finally trust him.]

Maybe you should work on being patient. [It's a joke, of course. He doesn't care either way.]

[ His smiles lingers for a while, then it disappears after some moments of silence. His arms crack when he stretches a little, then he rests his hands on the back of his neck and leans against the tree with his eyes closed.

This is nice. Too nice... Perhaps it is because this is the so called calm before the storm? He won't tell Axel about how how the final showdown with Diva is near and with it comes a deep sense of anxiety. What will happen if Conrad dies? What will be of him if he doesn't survive and leaves Axel behind? Or if Diva wins and chooses to turn him into Chevalier out of retaliation? In spite of the multiple questions his expression remains passive. He must not let his concern show in any way.

Out of impulse he sighs and without saying anything he rests his head against Axel's shoulder. ] ... With weather this pleasant, I feel like taking a nap. [ he announces as if to justify his actions but truth is he only wants a bit of closeness. Who knows if they'll ever have another peaceful moment together again. ]

[Well...ok, maybe only sometimes he gets scared and shy, but not always!

He's silent as well for a moment as Wolfram relaxes and then eventually rests his head against his shoulder. It really is nice, even with the dogs yapping away, and even then they aren't loud. He can still see Mars and Pluto messing with each other, jumping one another and passing the tennis ball back and forth while the other puppies watch and try to join in, and while he'd like to try and not dwell, Axel just can't help but think of Xion anyway. She really would have liked to see this, too...

After a moment he looks over to the blonde.]

Wouldn't you rather sleep at home? [he asks softly.]

[ Going home sounds good but Wolfram wouldn't like to do it. If they leave it would mean Axel would have to part ways with Mars and if Axel will be able to see the puppy just this one day, then he should spend as much time as he can with him.

He thinks about it for a few moments before he straightens up and stands up, not before giving the other a small smile. ] I'm going home. You stay here with Pluto, Mars and the others.
