[ When Subaru wakes up alone in a pitch-dark room, her first thought is that the power had been cut. Maybe a side effect of Sentience's newly regained control? The A.I. did say she was successful, after all.
When she stumbles into the doorframe and winces, she's aware of her injuries and the pain helps her realize that, no, it wasn't a dream after all.
But when she steps into the empty, cold hall of the Shelter, she begins to feel dread. A dull, sinking feeling in her gut that won't go away. She bangs on the first door that she knows is occupied, but there's no answer.
On the second one, she's more insistent.
The third, she nearly takes it off the hinge before just opening it outright and checking on the occupants inside. Breathing, yes, but in such a deep sleep that a heavy shake didn't wake them. ]
What.... what's going on?
[ Was she alone? Was she punished? She could try her communicator, but the thing is that she had it sort of wrecked in combat, so good luck talking to her if you speak anything other than Mid-Childan, English, or Japanese. ]
[ She rushes to one of the common rooms and despite the very real possibility that she'll be scolded for this later, she yanks on the control handle for the fire alarm.
