[Action/video/open]
[The video starts nice and clear, showing the face of a man in his late teens or perhaps early twenties. He's boyish-looking, with red hair and green eyes, skin lightly tanned and cheeks sprayed with freckles. It's clear that he intended to start this transmission so it's really anyone's guess why he isn't saying anything yet - there's no interference or distractions in the background or anything yet he continues to aimlessly fiddle with the headset for a good few seconds.

Those of you who ever had a technologically handicapped teacher may recognize this behavior. Overhead projectors and VCR's, man. ]

Oh, uhm… is this on? I ain't sure but… I think it's workin'?

Okay! Uh. Hi! I guess… I'm not really familiar with th' prison… etiquette, I suppose? This here place don't look much like any prison I've heard of but then again I ain't never been in one before so maybe prisons can look like this too. I figured I should at least introduce m'self so uh… let me know if I'm, y'know. Doin' it wrong.

Anyway… My name's Aidan an' I'm twenty years old. Is it custom t' say what you're in for? Cause… I don't know if I wanna do that. I ain't dangerous or anythin' but uh… [pause as something occurs to him] ..but I can hold my own, so don't get any ideas. Let's just leave it at that. Uh, so… hi. It's… it ain't a pleasure t'be here, that'd be a big fat lie but uhm, I guess since I ain't got much of a choice I reckon I might as well be civil. So… it's nice t' meet y'all.

[Getting awkward now.]

I'm just gonna… go ahead an' turn this off now.

	It's definitely not like any prison. Not by a lot of people's standards, I don't think. [He's thoughtful for a second. He's only been here a few days, after all.] I don't think you have to tell people what you're here for. I know I didn't. (Reply to this) (Thread)

[Bored Helix is bored, chilly and he can't sleep. It was soggy and miserable outside, he was sort of hoping Acumen would step up the sunshine a bit more today. After being trapped inside due to snow everyone could use it.

He didn't really feel like poking the newbies to pass time but... well, it WAS a source of entertainment to troll the hell out of them. So here he was, clicking through the network anyway, sneering, rolling his eyes at the new voices and then--]

[He stumbles upon the video recording and is suddenly frozen. He's stuck studying those familiar features, blinking slightly with disbelief as if expecting the recording to be his imagination. The tussled red hair, the freckles and warm green eyes belonging to none other than Aiden.

He watches the recording with a flutter of excitement and nervous apprehension. He's waiting for it, any sign of life, more movement to show that this wasn't just some picture show to screw with his head. His eyes were intently glued to his viewfinder.]

[Then just seeing the other focus on him (even if he couldn't actually see him yet) has him near deaf with his own heartbeat in his ears. Watching him interact and the sound of his voice snaps him out of his awe.

It--it has to be him, right? No. There was no mistaking that accent or his adorkable response to all of this.

He hoped the AI wasn't that sadistic.

But here? Why here? How did he--it didn't matter. He was here! The one person he never believed he would ever get to see again. He was serving a life sentence in this god-forsaken bubble after all and now...

Shit.

What should he say? It'd been, what, months? He'd never had a chance to keep in touch or tell the boy he was alive this--]

[Hokay, this really wasn't as difficult as he was making it out to be. He ruffled a hand through his short feathers and tried to think of something intelligent.

Hello would be good right? He could manage that. So he switches his device over to respond with every intent on making it video. But it's only voice at the moment.

Which is probably good cause he utterly fails and falters at first before managing a soft...]

[A part of him isn't surprised to hear Helix's voice at all. It makes sense, if he's bad enough to be put here then the other is definitely enough of a hardened criminal to be swooped up as well.

And yet... he can't really believe it. It's only been a week for him, but that's still a week of not knowing what happened or where he went or... anything.

For a moment he's struck silent, eyes widening slightly as the video flickers on. ]

[And then, just like that his face breaks out in the biggest, warmest smile you could ever imagine. He's relieved, there's no doubt about that, no matter how strange this prison is it's still a prison and having a familiar face around makes him a lot less nervous about the possibilities of getting shanked in the shower.

(That's a thing, right?)

There's so much he could say, but for now only one thing comes to mind.]
