[Thought log, closed]
Characters: Akito and Agito
Location: Their room in the Shelter
Time: Evening
Warnings: Agito, deep thinking, a little bit of cute
Akito wandered through the Asylum until his feet finally led him back to his room. The light slipped inside and locked the door behind him, moving over to the bed and flopping down on his back. Kasumi meowed at him, but the kitten stayed curled up on her bed nearby.
He sighed at the ceiling. That idea...Sentience had said that it could split himself and Agito apart, into separate bodies. At first, Akito had thought that he'd want that more than anything, but...the mental connection he and his other shared, able to read one another's thoughts...he didn't want to lose that. Head twisted to the side.
"What do you think?"
To the light's sight, the room darkened slightly, but he could see his other half, leaning on the wall with arms folded. Akito knew he was thinking, but didn't pry into the dark's thoughts. He'd rather talk to Agito himself than listen in like that. It was too much like eavesdropping.
Agito was quiet for a moment before opening his eye and glancing at his other half. 'You know I'll go along with your choice no matter what,' he replied. Akito pouted at him. "Agito..."
The dark shrugged. 'Honestly, I don't care that much. But...you're right about that. The connection between us would most likely be broken.'
"I don't want that..." The light pushed himself upright, sitting cross-legged. "Would we still be close if that connection was broken? I don't want to lose you..."
His other half sighed and walked across to him, the room shifting and turning blue-black to their eyes as the conversation turned to a purely mental one. Agito sat beside his other and reached to ruffle Akito's hair, making the light squeak in surprise. 'You know I won't leave you. If we lost that connection, we'll still be together. As long as you need me, I won't leave you.'
Akito smiled a little at that, leaning against his other and not minding the arm around him. 'Arigato...I still don't want to lose the connection like this, but...maybe...'
'Wait,' the dark interrupted. 'Don't decide just yet. Sleep on it, maybe talk to the others around here. You don't have to decide today.'
The light smiled and nodded, feeling himself drawing away, back to the real world. He shifted to lie down again, tugging his AT off first. He rested back, staring at the ceiling for a bit before smiling. "Arigato, Agito..." he murmured softly, eye closing. "I love you..."
'I love you too. Go to sleep.'
Akito smiled and curled up on his side, drifting off into a dream. Agito watched over him for a moment longer before letting himself rest as well.
