Re: proposed issue: non-hunters being adjunct members?
I don't know. Particularly if there is a list of names, I think people would be less likely to want this. In the past I was fine with the regular defense force working together to stop vampires who have been out of control... [She takes a breath. This next part is difficult] ... Like Uncle Rido... [But then, there hadn't been the idea of a force like this. Additionally involving people uninvolved with how to deal with a dangerous vampire seems-- well, rather dangerous to their safety.]
If a hunter acted out-- regular humans and the defense force in general are able to deal with someone like that. If lots of people outside of the individuals who already deal with vampires join, it feels more focused as a force that deals strictly with vampires.
[Consideringly--] What about a force that deals with supernatural beings in general...? Vampires not being the only exception. Then it feels less about one minority, and individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds with more experience are able to help out when and where they are needed. Then, divisions with people who expertise in one area can be in charge, and dispatch the others maybe not as knowledgeable as needed? They can fill the gaps in.
