WALKING NIGHTMARES EVENT INFO
We've all had them, the nightmares that seem so real that you feel like they really happened, like you're still in them when you wake up. You can feel your teeth fall right out of your mouth, or the claw marks of a monster chasing you through the woods, or the hot red embarrassment hot on your cheeks in the knowledge that your entire school just saw you naked.

On day 422 (April 3-9) we're making those nightmares a touch more real. For the duration of the day, the characters' nightmares will come to life! How this happens is up to you! It can be something harmless like sitting for an exam that you haven't studied for, or something much more horrific. We encourage you to get creative with this!

If you die in a dream, do you die for real? - Nightmares themselves can not kill you for this event. You can however die as a cause of it. For example, a monster can't kill you but jumping out the window to escape it will. Maybe you're seeing zombies everywhere and accidentally murder a fellow inmate as a result of it? You can of course still believe that you're bleeding out from dream injuries, or something similar!

Multiple nightmares? Shared nightmares? Seeing someone else's nightmare? Sure thing! Feel free to mix and match throughout the day, as long as you talk to the players involved first!

What about afterwards? Will they remember? Will they get punished? The nightmares will remain as vivid memories, just like a real waking experience. The rules will not be in effect for this event, though the characters won't know that!

Opt out? Your character simply won't experience any of this!

• Ianto - I don't know, I feel like I've just done so much drama for him lately haha. Maybe something Tyki or Torchwood trauma/Canary Wharf related but I don't know. I'll wait and see what Jack and Spike are doing and then decide so check back for him.

• Phanan - Chuck will be gone and he won't be able to find her, which includes if she's standing there talking to him. So on the one hand aww their love is adorable but then also aww sad.

• Kanji - I think we all agree he deserves the typical forgot you had to give a presentation to the class and you're in your underwear dream.

• Aigis - A variation on her dream from the Answer, I think, where she keeps seeing the main character waking away from her and can't catch up no matter how hard she tries.

	I have some Pretty Horrific Shit planned for Spike potentially so maybe it's not a super bad idea if at least one of them isn't freaking the fuck out. I'm also waiting to see what Anna's got cooking tho so things may change. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Unfortunately, I'm going to be away on hiatus next week (family trip to Venice for hubby's 50th and then I'm in a show all day Saturday!) so won't be around to play anything out in this event. :-(

On the other hand, perhaps I could do some kind of nightmare where Jack is invisible and helpless and can't interact with anyone, so we could do after-the-event reactions instead?

Or actually I guess Spike could just have murdered him in his sleep...!

	Yeah, you're probably right. Why don't we go with the invisible/disappeared idea then, and then Spike can spend the day wondering if he has actually murdered him (but not staking himself because he knows it's an event and will hopefully be reversed) and then perhaps the next day they can wake up together for a change? 	Yeah. Hopefully I'll also get my brain back at some point this week to get some tagging done - that would be nice! But the week after next, my trip and show will be over and it's the Easter holidays so I should be able to catch up on some sleep, so hopefully then I will definitely be back properly! 	I also approve of this because I was going to suggest Ianto wake up with Jack for maximum Spike freakout. Now he can be confused about Jack being gone, Jack can be freaked pure the next day about Ianto not being able to see him and then he can go join Spike for a did he murder Jack investigation. OKAY

Duo - Duo's nightmares all center around loss. You can pick your poison... losing his friends, losing people he considers family, losing his "partner" (the first Deathscythe)... He also does still sort of see himself as a "god of death", so there's that imagery, too, I can play with.

Piper - Another one with loss, centered around her family, mostly... her sisters, her son, her husband, her mother and grandmother... not her father, so much. She's not super close to him, yet, but their relationship is on the mend at this point in her canon. Also, the fear of forever being trapped in Marina and never being there to see her son grow up is going to be a thing.

Tieria - Failure. Yes, Tieria also has loss to freak out over, but his associates those losses with his own failures. He failed to reboot Virtue, and Neil was hurt. He failed to save Neil from Ali. He failed to complete his mission. He failed in his part of the Plan. Also, while he acts like he's okay with it, the actual process of dying isn't fun. He remembers his "deaths", and those will be making an appearance as well.

Kitty - Being the overachiever that she is, failing at something school related, whether being late, missing class for some stupid reason (on a big test day!), freezing up on a presentation, these are all open for the taking. She's also going to potentially lose control of her powers, and there's the whole "Team gets smashed in a fight" thing.

Keith - I put Keith for last because his have spoilers for season 2. Though, if you've read his app, you're probably already spoiled. First, there are his abandonment issues. Keith has had a lot of people "leave" him behind. So, that's going to be a recurring thing where he feels like everyone's leaving him for some reason. He also is unsure about and partially fears his Galra side because he doesn't know anything about it. He gets uptight when Hunk watches him to see if he's going to turn purple, and often insists that nothing's changed because it's always been there, but there's a bit of doubt, and he gets really defensive when someone points it out to him. So, I'm thinking I might play with that a bit. After the kitty ears event, this'll be a nice bit of icing on the cake to get him started in the ways of Marina's events. LOL

Duo, Keith, and Piper all have some nice flashback, dreamy type materials from canon that I can work from, too. Kitty and Tieria have "current events", but not a lot of "history" to go from, but I'm willing to work with what I know.

So I have some fun ones here.

Lyle - His nightmare is going to be about losing people and being alone. He's lost pretty much everyone he cares about - his parents, siblings, girlfriends, so he has this fear in the back of his mind that he's eventually going to have no one.

Michiru - Two options for her. The first is going to be losing people, specifically Haruka, Setsuna, and Hotaru. The second is BECAUSE I CAN. She is, in canon interviews, afraid of sea cucumbers. Why? It's never explained. But I'm thinking she's going to see one or more following her around.

Trowa - Loss (again). He finally has people he cares about, especially with his new beau Quatre. Another option is that he actually has something to say, but he either can't get it out or no one can hear him.

Those are my benign ones. Now...

Carl - Walkers. A lot of walkers (Zombies to those who don't know the show). I would say Carl's is a high threat level to any bystanders because he has a stash of kitchen knives in his apartment specifically in case walkers appear and he will likely be wielding them.

Shiro - Two options for Shiro, one benign, one where someone may get hurt. The first will be relating to something happening to the younger Paladins, such as getting injured. Because he is the leader of the team, he'd blame himself for it. Now for the second... Shiro is a high functioning ptsd sufferer, having survived being forced to fight for sport and being experimented on. The second will relate to his time in a Galra prison where he could potentially being seeing an opponent he's being forced to fight or one of his Galra captors. This one is also likely to have someone get hurt especially since his Galra tech arm is still functioning - which we could always have him think he's using it, but really not. It will still hurt though.

Some loose ideas here.

Spike - waking up in a bloodied bed and spending the day absolutely convinced he murdered someone in his sleep. Still working out the details here but if someone else wants to be dream murdered (so not actually murdered at all) we can work on that.

Aidan - hearing explosions and gun fire at enough of a distance that he can't see it. It'll gradually freak him out during the day to the point of withering into a PTSD mess. Enjoy!

Reid - Chasing after an UnSub or maybe Tyki or maybe just some faceless threat in the Dome. He does have an actual functioning revolver so if anyone's into maybe accidentally getting shot (not killed) I can work with that, otherwise he'll just have a dream!gun and be bad at his job at people.

Chuck - Is technically sitting this one out but her husband also won't know she's there so that's kind of a nightmare in itself?

Wade — I AM THE MOST UNSURE I want to do something with Francis and not being able to breathe but I can't wrap my head around it so he may sit this one out unless I figure it out by next week.

	John - Johnny Boy gets to be in a living Hell of all the people he has ever failed. Which, is quite a lot. They'll be in the form of ghosts just following him around. Demons and such may show up as well. Connor - I figure that he is either opting out or he'll be involved in others dreams. Whatever people would like! (Reply to this)
