Shared Dreaming Event
Shared dreaming will start during the morning of Day 374 (May 2-8). Characters will be sleeping an extra 24 hours ICly.

Your character will sleep more deeply and much longer than they otherwise would have. It will also make characters who keep different hours feel drowsy enough that they'll want to head home to bed or any convenient spot. Even characters without the need or desire for sleep can find themselves affected.

Not only will characters share their dreams, but it will also enhance the dream experience. They may feel more vivid than usual or be more plentiful or extreme.

If you don't want your character to be affected, then they were one of the lucky ones. Good for them! Please remember it was entirely random chance and not a condition of your character's training or heritage. There's no reason someone must be unaffected! If you do have them sit this out they won't be able to see any of the dreams. They may find themselves sleeping through the day dreamlessly or they may be awake. They can try to wake other characters with little to no success. They should be able to tell the others are still alive and not in any immediate danger.

There will not be a mingle for this event. You will make a post describing your character's dream (or dreams since it's not uncommon to have more than one through the night) and people tag into them. Much like with real dreaming your character may realize they are dreaming or they may not. The same is true for your guests. The primary dreamer can take care of designing the dream world or the dream can evolve with the combination of minds present. Players will need to work these details out together.

Dreams can be just as average, bizarre, traumatic, violent, or sexy as you'd like without risk of punishments since it's just a dream!

When people do finally start waking up on Day 375 it should be very much like waking up from any dream. The memories may be very strong at first and then fade with time. Of course it's also possible for these dreams to stick around a little better.

Considering that Jack missed out on this one last time because I was too busy, he's definitely going to be making up for it this time!

Obviously, this is Jack, whose dreams probably all come with an NC-17 warning anyway, but this time, the whole big thing with Ianto and Spike is bound to be preying on his mind and so there might be some dreams where he's rebelling against the whole restrictions thing and wanting to play the field a bit more, along with possibly some darker ones conveying his insecurities about Ianto leaving him for Spike etc. etc. Not quite sure where I'm going with that yet but there will be choices of sex or angst, basically! :-)

No worries - I just kept coming up with ideas (unusually for me!) so I just shoved them all down in case anyone fancied them. :-)

Club would be cool - it would certainly be a familiar sort of scenario for both of them, wouldn't it?

...I was going to say let's try and keep it at just one thread simply for the sake of trying to keep numbers of threads down, but I can't decide which so it might have to be both! I particularly like the idea of tree sex in yours... :-)

It's absolutely fine - I was looking to use this for an opportunity to interact with new people, or old people in new ways!

And especially with the 'performance exam' comment giving them at least a tenuous reason for being there - Jack has been thinking about team building etc. on and off so it's an entirely feasible extrapolation in his unconscious mind to perform some Time Agent-type trust exercises. *g*
