EVENT: Animal parts!
Some of you might remember the great furry disaster of day 281. Those who do will probably feel an uncomfortable chill and an indescribable urge to munch down on carrots right about now.

That's right. Fur is back in fashion on day 344 (October 5-11).


What just happened? Why has this happened?

It's been two (ic) months since the last incident, during which Facilier has been fine tuning his formula from last time. Running a lotions and potions shop is all fine and dandy but it gets a bit dull when there's so little green in circulation, and so he's taken to amusing himself through other ways. The second phase of the test is just about ready to begin.

However, he didn't plan to get caught poisoning people and so he's decided to take things a different route this time, by employing an unaware henchman: Chuck. She's been buying homeopathic anti-depressants from him ever since her last batch ran out and, unbeknownst to her, some of those bottles contain a little extra that may make you hungry for kibble. She'll happily drip it in the food down at the Daffodil Dive, giving the patrons more than they bargained for.

Of course, no true experiment is complete without variables so Facilier will also, in the sneakiest way possible, dump little loads of the concoction in other places. Other food establishments, the occasional water supply or air ventilation shaft, maybe some sprinkled on the sand at the beach? Needless to say, it's wide spread enough that most of the inhabitants will risk coming into contact with it.

How does this affect people?

The powder affects people by either transforming parts or the whole of their body into an animal or parts of an animal. The transformation works on a sliding scale, either with a small change like goat eyes or rat teeth, to a full-body change. This will be instantaneous — they’ll wake up fully transformed on the morning of 344.

What kind of animal can my character transform into?

Any earth animal is fair game. This can either be something completely random or an animal that resembles their physical characteristics or personality traits.

What about venomous animals? Extremely large animals?

You are allowed to play with venomous animals/animal aspects, but please keep in mind that poisoning someone through a snake bite or similar will count as murder if the bitten character dies! Same goes for very large animals — there is no set size restriction but please be reasonable and remember that overly large animals would have great difficulty maneuvering and could cause a lot of damage, if not deaths by trampling.

What about several animals? Can my character finally be the cow-snake hybrid they always dreamed of?

Sorry, no. The powder reacts with the unique chemical makeup of the individual and will only turn them into one kind of animal.

I’ve been turned into a cow, can humans still understand me?

Yes, they can. Please be aware that the wardens won’t be handing out custom-made communicators, so if your character gets features that don’t accommodate them there will be a language barrier due to the lack of a translation program.

I’ve been turned into a cow, can other animals understand me?

It’s possible! They will always be able to understand other players, regardless of their level of animal characteristics. If you feel like it makes sense for your character to understand NPC animals (either their own pets or animals in the Pet Café) then go ahead!

I’ve been turned into a cow, can inmates in sector 6 understand me?

Sorry, no. The inmates of Sector 6 communicate on a different level from the inmates in 1-5 and since the communicators normally can’t translate between the inmates of 6 and 1-5, being an animal won’t help your case either.

How will this affect my personality? Will I be more docile if I turn into a cow?

The actual transformation won’t have any direct affect on the character's personality or mood, however if the animal in question has aggressive/docile/territorial characteristics, that could tap into the same emotions within your character. A shy, kind character will never be more aggressive than they already has the potential for, but the animal instincts could give them the incentive to act out on emotions that they’re already capable of.

I’m a vampire/robot/special snowflake, will I still be affected?

If you have a physical form (which you really should have if you’re in this game) you can be affected. Robots and cyborgs are of course free to turn into electric sheep.

I don’t want to be a cow! Opt out?

Maybe your individual chemical makeup just isn’t compatible with the powder. Maybe you happened to be at the right place at the right time. Maybe the formula is unstable in a way that exempts you. Either way, there’s no harm in sitting out the animal shenanigans.

How long will this last?

The Wardens have already gone through this once before and would rather not spend too many resources on shoveling manure. Anything affected by the formula will be cleared of it by late day 344. All transformations will be reversed by the morning of 345 at the latest.
