[ It's the first annual monthly bi-weekly — it's the first Memorial Garden Committee meeting! The invitations have been sent, a couple of park benches in Sector 0 have been claimed and there's even a few plates of home-made cookies put out in case the allure of fast food on a stick wasn't enough. How can you resist? That's right, you can't!

The instigator to all this is pretty nervous but once the clock strikes noon he clears his throat and kicks off the meeting the only way he can. ]

Alright, so… some of all y'all might remember me talkin' 'bout puttin' together a Memorial Garden for all our friends who've disappeared a while back. Now, I know we already got some o' that stuff 'round here but this would be somethin' we'd create all on our own. We'd decide what t' plant in it an' tend to it an' pool our rehab points together to get seeds an' plants or whatever else we need.

There ain't no pressure to help out. We do what we can, alright? What we're good at. I'm happy to help anyone who don't know how t' grow things an' wants to learn, but th' important part is that we all get a chance to have a say in this. This is where this comes in. Just write down your ideas an' we'll gather it all up an' make sure everyone gets somethin' they want.

[ He gestures to a SUGGESTION BOX set out with a stack of paper and some pens for all your suggestive needs. ]

Alright... that's all I had t' say. You go on an' talk amongst yourselves an' have fun!

(ooc: Mingle! Socialize to your hearts content, whether you got an invitation to the meeting or not. Notifs are off but Aidan has a thread HERE if you want to hit him up specifically! Feel free to let your character leave serious ideas for the memorial garden (or just troll the hell out of it) in the suggestion box HERE ! ))

[Piper had three people she wanted to set something up for. She had considered asking at the kiosk, but, frankly, wasn't sure she wanted something so bland and generic. The whole point was to do something and create some sort of connection with the person who was gone. So, this was definitely something she was interested in participating with.

She wandered the space, looking at what was already there, and considering what she could contribute.]

[ Peggy glanced up from her notes as Piper strolled past her and then called out a greeting. ]

Hello, I don't believe we've met. [ Peggy stood gracefully and crossed the small space between them, holding out a hand for handshake. ] I'm Peggy Carter.

[Piper turned at the greeting, curious, and then offered a smile.]

Piper Halliwell. [She returned the handshake.] Are you here for the meeting, too?

[After all, she wasn't sure if anyone was just passing through at the same time the meeting was going on.]

[ Peggy nodded ] I'm afraid I've never acquired my mother's green thumb, but I can at least guarantee that I won't kill the garden outright.

Are you one of the first ones here?

[ Her smile is light though as she spoke, turning a joke out of her two left feet when it came to gardening. She had always been more of a tomboy then her mother and grandmother had sometimes wished. ]

Icon & typo fix. Sorry.

No? [Piper looked a little sympathetic.] I like plants. I wouldn't profess to be an expert, but I've managed to keep my share of a few.

I do admit, though... and don't tell my sisters if they show up, but I overwater when I'm annoyed about something.

[She shrugged a little and then looked around at the second question.]

For the meeting or in the dome in general? I was here around when the meeting started, but I've only been in Marina overall for a little while. I got here a few days before they moved us to this dome from the other one.

[ her lips quirked up in a silent laugh ] If your only crime is over watering a few flowers, I think we will all do well with this garden.

[ so long as it doesn't rain, of course, but that's an issue they can solve when they come to it. ]

But I did mean for the meeting. I was simply wondering if there had perhaps been anything I missed. [ it's so easy to lose track of time when one is reading after all. ]

[That got a chuckle back, and then Piper shrugged a little at the question.]

Not a whole lot. At least, nothing in the way of plant advice for the moment. It was more just to establish the idea of what everyone wants to accomplish and to point out the suggestion box.

[She nodded towards Aidan.]

He's kind of organizing things for now, and sounds like he knows what he's doing when it comes to gardening. He's willing to teach, that's for sure. I'm probably going to ask him for advice myself.

[ Peggy nodded deferentially ] Yes, Aidan has always struck me as a bright man with a good head on his shoulders. He's done well to put this all together so far.

[ but she turned her attention back to Piper, a slight wrinkle creasing her forehead. ] Piper... I feel I should know that name. Do you happen to know a Mr. Barnes, perhaps?

[ she still had a vague recollection of the Luau some odd numbered days ago. Her only crime was that she had discovered she knew far too few people in the dome. Hence, her new self made goal to interact more with others. It shouldn't be too difficult after all; the place was rather small by the standards of some of the field camps she'd been too. It was hardly even the count of a fully stocked company. ]

[Piper did pause at the name and then she nodded.]

I do. I'm guessing mutual connection, then.

[Peggy's sense of style seemed to indicate a similar time period, as well, but Piper wasn't going to make assumptions right now.]

[ her smile is immediate ] Indeed he is. It was an honor to work with him back in my world. He was an accomplished soldier. [ and womanizer, but that was rather assumed when one dealt with the army. ]

He didn't talk much about it. [Then again, neither did Leo. It must be something about soldiers from that time.] What did the two of you work on together?

[ she smiled apologetically ] I'm afraid some details can't be discussed. Just know that he served his country well and truly, all the way to the end.

I'm sorry.

[ she raised an eyebrow ] What for? He had no regrets. [ Steve Rogers, on the other hand, did. But such is the price of leadership and in many ways war in general. The dead had peace, the living did not. ]

[Piper gave a weak smile.]

I suppose that's good.

[Kind of. She wondered if Prue or her mother had any regrets. Or even Grams.]

It doesn't make losing someone any easier.

No, perhaps not, but one must cling to the details that aid us, rather then hinder us. It's the living who regret, not the dead.

[She smiled a little at that and nodded slightly.]

Thanks.

[If it wasn't obvious already, Piper definitely had a personal reason to be at this meeting.]
