Who: Elizabeth Marceau, Kevin Brocklehurst, the Brocklehurst family and other NPCs When: New Year's Eve at night Where: Starting from the Brocklehurst residence What: Kevin takes Liz to a Muggle high society party for a date. Possible awkwardness on Liz's part around Muggle topics and things, and definite cuteness. Rating: TBA Note: Kaeli, we can breeze right through the meeting-family and the party scene if you want, so the log won't get too long.
Despite her mother constantly asking her exactly who was the bloke she was going with, Elizabeth didn't say anything past "Oh, he's only a friend". She didn't bother making up some story about how she'd be doing him a favour, because her mother can see right through her lies anyway.
Why Elizabeth had even initiated this was beyond reasoning for her. At one minute, she was determined not to see him except when they go back to Hogwarts and then the next, she's the one asking for a date.
No, no.. not a date. A dinner. He just wants someone to accompany him to the ball, yes. And I'm not attracted to him, this is just me being polite and friendly. Despite how many times she could think that, Elizabeth ended up wearing the sapphire necklace he had given her along with a gown in the matching color and her hair tied up in a bun (after, of course, arguing with her mother on which would look better -- she preferred it be let down).
After apparating to the designated coordinates, Elizabeth paused outside the door to take a deep breathe. "How did 'zis ever happen," she muttered to herself before ringing the doorbell. Whether she liked it or not, she had agreed and it would have been uncalled for if she had backed out now. What was the worst that could happen anyway, right? Even having a bad impression on his family or having wine splashed all over her dress didn't seem so bad compared to the fact that she was on a date with one bloke when she was already seeing someone one.
