Llewellyn was working at the clinic and combat therapy, and she’d been pulling extra shifts while everyone sorted everything back out. Things were levelling off finally, so she was getting some more down time. As such she decided to go bother her boyfriend - pizza in hand - she knocked on his door, leaning on the doorframe.
When he answered it, she grinned, “Delivery!” she winked. Today she had on a mid-length tan dress, her red hair loose and half curled, she looked a little tired but in a good mood overall. She’d been so busy lately she hadn’t really spent time with him and she felt bad about that.
“Hi, did you miss me?” she teased.
“Always,” Adam said, grinning when he opened his door to discover Llewellyn on the other side. The fact that she had pizza was a bonus, but definitely not his primary focus. “You’re a welcome surprise.”
Now that Balthazor had moved in with Cas and Sam was back, the house seemed a little crowded and he was considering if they should get a place together, but he wasn’t sure if they were there yet.
She smiled as she stepped inside, "Sorry I've been distant, I didn't think bouncing between two jobs would be so taxing." She laughed softly as she leaned in to steal a kiss.
"I brought apology pizza." She kicked her shoes off just inside the door. "How are you?" Llew did feel bad about not being around much lately, but she was feeling better the moment she set foot inside. She was glad she'd found Adam.
Adam waved off the apology. They weren’t the type of couple who needed to spend 24/7 together and he knew that she was busy. With Rockin’ Thunder preparing to open for the season and his Guardian duties, he was busy too and their schedules just hadn’t lined up all that much. It was okay.
“I’ll never turn down pizza. Or you,” he said. “So I’m pretty good right now.”
They weren't not really. "Perfect." She paused to reach up and steal a kiss from him. "Now that you've got me, what shall we do?" She laughed a bit.
"How's everything going, to be polite first." She ran her fingers through her hair then smiled, "mind if I be me? I haven't in awhile."
There were a few things Adam could think of that he’d like to do, but for the moment, just hanging out and eating pizza was good. They had plenty of time for the rest later. He rolled his eyes at her question. “When have I ever minded that?” he asked.
As gorgeous as she was wearing her human face, he was fond of her natural form as well. “So, anything interesting happening in the work world?” he asked.
She rolled her shoulders and that motion let the form shift, no wings because they took up too much room, but she sighed in relief. Sometimes it felt constricting to wear her human all the time. She liked how she looked normally - so being able to unwind was so nice. “Mmm it’s only polite to ask, you know.” she laughed softly.
She ran her hand through her hair, untangled it from her horns and got comfy. “Not really, which is nice. Minding two shifts at two different places is always a little awkward. And with Shadow gone? Well, I’m kind of running most of the one. I’m not sure how that happened in my life, but here we are.” she grinned.
“I am sure I haven’t told you this in awhile, but I am really grateful for you.”
“You know if you ever need help, all you have to do is ask,” Adam said. It might even be interesting to help her with the place. He was getting bored with Rockin’ Thunder after so many years. Of course, it might not be a great idea for them to work together too.
He let her get comfortable and then grabbed a slice of pizza for each of them. “Could you cut back on your shifts at the clinic?”
"I know." She said with a smile, "I could cut back but they're the closest I get to my actual job in this place. I'm thinking of trying to recruit a few people for combat so I can focus less on it."
She snagged her slice grinning. "I need to figure it out so I can actually spend more time with you."
Adam grinned back. “I certainly wouldn’t object to that,” he said. It had been a long time since he let himself really get involved with someone and he was glad that it was Llewellyn. She made his life more interesting, that was for sure.
“Maybe I can help you out,” he offered. “I’m getting kind of bored with the jet boats.”
“I would be happy to have you help out.” she said lightly, she knew working together could strain things, but she was always in the clinic side of things, she could easily set them apart. “Though, I would technically be your boss.” she grinned. “You think you could handle that?”
Llew was rarely boring. That was for sure. She might have fallen into a routine but by her very virtue she was something else.
Considering that back home, Adam’s best friend was his boss and he worked with his girlfriend, he didn’t see any issue with that. “Long as you aren’t too mean,” he joked. “I’m sensitive, you know.”
She rolled her eyes, “You are super sensitive.” she said laughing softly as she polished off her slice of pizza and looked over at him. “The most sensitive. I’m not a mean boss - and mostly I’m trying to let the place run itself while keeping up to things Shadow started. It’s not a bad job.” she smiled a bit.
“Well, then, consider me hired,” he said. “Unless I need to interview or something.” Adam waggled his eyebrows, making it clear what he was offering.
She leaned back and grinned. “I think you need to convince me you’re right for the job.” she winked as she set her drink down and held out her hand. Might as well enjoy the interview process, right?
