"I have a system," said Remus.

"Statistically speaking, the odds are always with the house," said Hermione.

Remus smiled. "I'm not afraid."

Minerva shook her head. "I'm afraid you're not being logical."

"As Severus often reminds me, logic is not a Gryffindor characteristic."

Severus sat down in front of him. "Do you remember my cousin Maurice? From the family picnic."

"The one who kept asking Gemma for money?"

"He lost everything playing poker. He had a system, you see, and - "

Remus swallowed. Maybe they had a point.
