The rumors began with the gifts: free babysitting services so he could run errands or recuperate after the full moon, medicinal chocolate to ease his aching joints, books and gently used clothing. Nothing could truly be construed as romantic, but most of the old Order was soon convinced that Remus had a secret admirer.
Remus pooh-poohed the idea. It had been enough of a shock when his late wife had first thrown herself at him. Lightning surely would not strike again.
It was only when he received a puppy that suspiciously resembled Snape's crup bitch that he began to wonder.
