Letter from Leó Szilárd to Chris Howe, sent 17 September 1942...
Via airmail, in reply to her letter:
Dear Dr Howe,
I am very pleased to hear that you have found a position suitable to your talents; I do remember Červenka and Locke, and I've no doubt that working with them will be quite challenging.
I thank you for your invitation, but much as I am occasionally frustrated by the bureaucratic processes that distract me from my real work, that work is worth the effort. I suspect there will be changes made in that area soon; it remains to be seen if they are for the better.
