LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
An Open Letter to the People of Britannia, from Estrid Frealaf, Regent for Cyneheard Lord Frealaf:
Dear sirs,
I am recently restored to my family from the Royal Academy of Wizardry. I call upon the government of Britannia to set all those held there free likewise. It is unjust and foolish to have the heirs and children of the lands held in such a place. The arts by which it is kept safe are not well known even to the old families who were part of its founding. Do we trust in them? My family does not. There has been death at the castle, and rebellion of those long thought bound. There remain fertile and well-governed lands in Britannia, why are their fruits taken from them to this place?
My father Ealhheard Frealaf was struck by our enemies on his own land. The enemy's reach is long. Why does the government of Britannia trust its children then to land that is not even their own, especially to those that are not masters of the castle? Why even in time of peace does the government need to hold our children from us? How can this reason hold in time of war?
By her own hand,
Estrid Frealaf, Lady Frealaf RegentANNOUNCEMENTS: Obituaries
