Note passed from Lucius Malfoy to Kathleen Lovegood during flying class, 16 September 1942:
Lightly warded:
Dear Kat,
I know Jon and Dio are all afire that after flying we should go to Goyle's lab to join Callista and Mercuria and their brothers. And I am sure that you want to do the right thing. As do I.
But I'd like to let them go on ahead and meet them there after we talk a bit. I have some things for you and I'd rather not give them to you at tea if Saint-Germain is going to try and have it out with Liane.
Yours,
Lucius
PS: Also I can't say to Callie that I know how she feels, because I grieved my mother, but she wasn't really dead, thank God--although if you'd seen the things I saw, that I swore to Kyteler never to tell, you'd understand why I believed she was. And you can't say to Callie that you know how she feels either, because you're not supposed to have a father to lose. But I remember when you did. Neither of us may say so where we may be heard, but I never forget it, and when we are alone, you may tell me anything, if in return you will hear what I say and never repeat it to anyone.
PPS: Please burn this and don't keep it where Walsingham or Parkinson might find it. Parkinson's family would love to have this.
