Owl from Jameson Wilkes to Dracaena Malfoy, dated 16 September 1942...
Quite strongly warded and sealed, bearing the seal of St Mungo's Hospital; accompanied by copies of the synastry and composites for her son Lucius and Miss Kathleen Lovegood, with transits indicated:
Dear Lady Malfoy
I am writing to you to urge you to make time in your schedule to receive Mr Isaac Diggory today if at all possible. While I am aware that you are very busy with your work in support of our country, I am concerned by the fact that the curses seem still to be active even though the transits that activated them seem to have gone void-of-course.
At this point in time, after carefully examining their charts, I am recommending that you provisionally contract your son Lucius to Miss Kathleen Lovegood. I want to stress that this would only be a betrothal and that my primary reason for making this recommendation is that I believe it might mollify the ancestral spirits long enough for us to do more research. I am deeply concerned about what happened to Mr Zabini while he was here; although I am assured that Mrs Parkinson or Mr Charteris is at fault, the timing is highly suspect, and I expect more situations where the negative effects of other transits, spells or situations are amplified by these curses. Even if we manage to prevent any deaths, I can't imagine that the stress would be good for you or for either of your families.
Mr Diggory is understandably alarmed by this suggestion; I honestly do not expect you to favour it, but I trust you will understand what I mean by it. I am also concerned because I was told today that you had been told to consume Marcus Weasley's heart following his death. I was not surprised that you did not do it; I cannot imagine you doing such a thing. But I would like to know why you were told to do so and by whom, and I would also like to know what consequences you were told to expect from this act as well as from your refusal to do it.
I know this is likely quite difficult for you to accept; I would be willing to meet with you at your earliest convenience to further discuss it, as well.
Sincerely yours
Jameson Sherrinford Wilkes
