Owl from Michaela Binns Pryce to Joscelin van Rensselaer, dated 15 September 1942
Warded and sealed quite well, for Michaela, in reply to his letter
Dear Joscelin,
Thank you for your kind words, and your hospitality... and other things... the day of my grandfather's funeral. I am doing quite well: I am glad for him that at the last he went straight from his books to what waits beyond the Veil. Would that that fate awaits all of us, in due time.
I am very much looking forward to leaving here and working at the castle. It won't be much longer before I can take up my position, perhaps a week or so. In the meantime do write, and while I very much appreciated the thoughtfulness of your last, you needn't worry about being so very proper in future, if you don't want to be.
Thinking of you,
Yours,
Michaela
