WHO: Daniela and Sara Lynn
WHAT: Running into each other
WHERE: Coffee shop on the Fantastic
WHEN: Wednesday afternoon
WARNINGS/STATUS: TBD / Incomplete
It wasn't that Sara Lynn was unhappy with her newfound way of life on the Fantastic. That wasn't it at all. She had, in fact, been one of the first people advocating that the temporary new ship placements were a great opportunity to meet new people and see new places and all of that bullshit, which had been great in theory. The reality of the situation was that she found herself constantly making a mental note of the word temporary whenever she entered the coffee shop on the Fantastic. She missed the Java Jive Cafe where everyone knew her order by heart, and she didn't have to deal with a snotty-nosed twenty-year-old who thought that talking on the phone to her boyfriend was more important than listening to a customer's order.
Sara Lynn knew that she wasn't supposed to sweat the small stuff. Jesus certainly would not have done that because he wasn't petty. Neither was the Father. At least, not in the New Testament. Sara Lynn, however, was only human.
As such, she was fallible, and she was certainly feeling flawed that afternoon. She had put up with the phone call to the boyfriend for ten minutes while waiting to place her order. Now, twenty minutes later, she was impatiently at the head of the line once again. "What'd ya say?" the young woman asked, holding a hand over the telephone receiver.
"I said that everyone here is truly fascinated by the fact that your boyfriend cheated on you. And while we really appreciate you calling all of your friends to tell them what a horrible jackass he is, some of us would really like you to not give us a cafe au lait when we asked for a chai latte," Sara Lynn repeated, pushing the offending cup of coffee towards the girl, who looked as if she was going to throw it back in Sara Lynn's face. "I mean, am I completely off-base here?" she asked, turning to the people behind her in line.
