Founders Legacy OOC Asylum

Furthermore - I've done some checking - the how-to-calculate-Easter sort of checking - and we were supposed to have Easter in-game last week *facepalm*

So - I've decided that we will have Easter next week.
Which means no school next week as well as the following Monday - holiday from April 2 to April 9, both days incl.

The students may go home for Easter should they wish to do so. And the teachers may leave as well, provided they inform McGonagall of this so she knows who's left at school to supervise the remaining students :)

So, with the first Article about the Tri-Wizard Tournament going up, we thought it would be nice to have an actual selection of reporters so that people could write their own articles for the Daily Prophet.  We have created a journal with DP icons for 5 different reporters.  Any articles would need the final draft to be checked and cleared by a mod before posting, so that we don't end up with a ton of posts about one storyline and nothing else, but once it is cleared, you'll be given the password to post it yourself.

So, we now have a Ludo Bagman for use in play.  Just NPC, but now he has a face.

The actor's name is James Wilby, and since he's featured in a few spots, now, we thought it would be nice to have a face.  If you have need of him, just nudge the mods and let us know how you'd like to use and abuse him. ;)

So...  According to the book, The Weighing of the Wands was the same day the badges appeared.  However, to give us more time to play with things, we're going to have that happen Friday, and since K is the only actual pup in that thread, we're just going to let him do a journal entry about it.

The article by Rita will be appearing sometime Sunday or Monday.

And the First challenge will be posted the Saturday after. (the 26th)

Anything else we need to cover in that time, aside from multiple detentions? ;D

The badges



Fred knew Draco had a plan here. Between Beau and Pansy, Fred realised that Draco wanted to alter the badges to do something offensive to Harry.



Fred recruited some help from friends he trusted to come up with an alternate plan to support Harry.



The Plan



Fred & George have further Charmed the badges to do two additional things, which will start happening when Pansy casts a discreet charm at a time they deem 'appropriate'. It will affect *all* the badges schoolwide. (This will be clearly marked in the subject line of the post. Until then, they will say 'Potter Stinks".):


First, And this *only* works when it hears the words "Draco" or "Malfoy."

Someone is on the badges, mimicking Draco's voice, saying, "I love you, Potter" and then there's a sound of a peacock screeching in the background - every time Draco or Malfoy is said near a badge. (yes, this will work, because we're going off the idea of a Quick Quotes Quill and how it's sound activated)



Second, when the peacock screeches, the badge will flash briefly to the profile of a white ferret kneeling on its front legs with a sword sticking out its arse. On the sword is a red and gold tassel. - The twins will not take credit for this, they are going to act as though some Gryffindor did it.

So, in order to keep track of plots and threads, we'll be having weekly posts listing the threads that have been started in the past week or so.  We'll have one for the main community, and one for the Past community, sorted by year so that they're a bit easier to read. 

If at any time you see a thread that didn't get included (not including journal entries or owls), please let us know.  And anyone who would like to volunteer to take a week here or there is more than welcome to help. Just nudge one of the mods.

That said, we had a lot of activity in the past comm before the game actually started, so I'll be starting with a separate post of those, then moving on to what we have had in the past week.  So there will be three posts following this entry.

The Founders' Legacy comm won't open until January 1 to give everyone time for writing NaNoWriMo and then Christmas.
When the Main comm opens it will be Halloween 1994 where the Goblet of Fire will make its fatal ruling.

Past Playground
As you may have noticed we have a comm called Legacy Past.
This comm is basically a playground where you can play out scenes from your pup's history - like Fred and George meeting in the Hogwarts Express - seeing each other for the first time since they were babies. Or - what happened this summer? Or ... basically whatever you may think of. Only one rule - it has to take place in the past.

Past - the great space in time between your pup being born and the end of August 1994.

Remember to clearly state the date of your thread which includes the year.

The past comm is open for playing now. Have fun :D
