[Open] Most gods throw dice, but Fate plays chess...
Night had only settled over Las Vegas for an hour or so by the time Drew hit the streets on one of his nights off, with no precise plan in mind other than to take a stroll around the City of Lights. He had lived in other cities bearing the name, or close enough - Paris and Lisbon came to mind - and Las Vegas was, by far, the City of Most Garish Lights. But there was a certain charm to it, even along the Strip, where Drew's feet had taken him.
Everything that happened in Vegas stayed in Vegas, and people acted more freely for it. Flaws and virtues both were more pronounced here, in the tourists and casino guests, and the city provided an impressive showcase of humanity at its worst, and best, when you knew where to look. Drew was, more often than not, of a mind to look; people-watching was a habit and a hobby both.
He had never set foot inside this particular resort, but the name amused him, if a little blackly. Labyrinth. It called back to such myths of old, but fit perfectly in the city. So Drew wandered in and settled at one of the bars to order a beer and indulge in his hobby. People-watching.
