What: Reunion.
When: Morning, Day 6.
Where: Outside Buffy's Room
Rating: PG

Willow had been besides herself when she opened up her journal that morning with breakfast and saw familiar had writing that was totally unmistakable, so much in fact the red-headed witch almost choked on her tea. Emotions flooded her from excitement to worry then back to concern as she put away her things then dressed to hunt down her best friend. Did this mean that Buffy was dead too? No that couldn't be right, she wasn't dead and neither were the other people here.

But who was going to Slay the Vampires? And who was going to take care of poor Dawnie if Buffy, Tara and herself were in this place of all places with no way of returning to Sunnydale. Or was Faith really right and the place was their home really blown to bits? Buffy, Buffy would have the answers, if not the which would still just be as lost as before. Putting on her brown leather jacket against the rain then made way to the other dorm, they were really not as nice as the ones in the university. Hopefully they could all work together and figure out a way out of this mess.

Taking a deep breath Willow knocked on the door franticly hoping it wasn't too late and that Buffy had not already gone exploring to get to the bottom of things on her own. “Come on Buff, it's me Willow open up, I swear it's all safe and stuff!” She spoke to the door hoping to coax her best friend out. Biting her lip she pushed a long red strand of hair behind her ear and rocked on her heels, which made her long flowing skirt sway as she waited impatiently.

Buffy had not been out. In fact she'd been too busy amusedly poking and playing with the little journal deal she'd been given she hadn't moved from the spot on the bed she'd deposited herself on when she first sat down.

She'd been guiltily relieved to discover that at least she wasn't alone here, even if her friends had seemingly lost their minds. Willow was going on about people she'd never heard of and for whatever reason both she and Faith had made some reference to Spike as if he had somehow become significant and she should have some clue what they were talking about. The fact that she didn't was more than a little frustrating and she was really beginning to wish she had Giles there to figure this one out for her.

When there was a knocking on her door and Willow's familiar voice on the other side, Buffy set down the journal and retrieved her one stake from where she'd tossed it on the floor. She was pretty confident she wouldn't need it, but then this place was confusing and weird and she'd rather be safe than sorry.

She opened the door a crack and peaked out, but finding only her friend on the other side of the door she smiled and then opened it wider before taking a step back. "Hey, Will. Good to see a familiar face."

Willow was nervous because she had a very good idea what was going on here, this Buffy wasn't her Buffy of the same time and would be missing out on a life time of memories. Even so the girl was still her best friend and she would see her and spend time with her. The two had been through so much over the years and had saved each other's back sides more times then she cared to count, unless she could find some brilliant paper and nice pens to do it up in.

Her thoughts changed as the door opened, as she suspected there was a much younger Buffy Summers standing before her but she made no comments on this just yet only gave a cheerful grin and walked closer to wrap her arms around her friend. "Hey! It's so good to see you again, I've been here for like days, I was starting to really worry about things back home." Though this Buffy had no idea what was going on back home either.

The red-headed witch wandered into the room taking a look around. "So, I think making with the talk would be good, only I'm not sure where to start without you thinking I've gone all straight jackety" She giggled a little then sunk down on the sofa in the room. "I haven't though, things are just so wacky here in this place, big on the not making sense factor."

"I guess the obvious place to start is the fact that we are from different times you, me, Faith and Tara. Jareth, the guy who took us here he's pulled people from their worlds with his creepy overlord dark magic powers!" Willow frowned then gasped. "Oh boy, you have no idea who Tara even is.." The wicca bit her lip and went quite feeling a fear in her stomach she hadn't in a long time.

Buffy watched her friend explain the situation or rather try to start with an eyebrow that quirked up and as she continued became dangerously close to encountering her hairline. A smile broke over her lips and a little laugh escaped before she sighed and sat down next to her best friend. She sat facing her and folded her legs into an indian-style position and then cut Willow off to take some of the weight off her.

"Will, you look like you're gonna give your brain a hernia. Listen, I know that things are weird here. I mean it's all backwards and freaky with the vampires who worry more about the well being of my hand than my fist in their face, and tiny goblin guys and these weirdo journals. I get that I'm in some weird alternate reality place. I mean I'm sitting here next to you and just looking at you I can tell that you're not my Willow, or at least not the Willow I left behind a few hours ago. Your hair is different, you're older, there's this sense of confidence I've never seen in you before which is frankly kind of cool, and whether all of this is because you're from a different time, or from an alternate reality in which I'm not an only child . . . I get that you're still Will so I'm going to trust whatever you tell me." She smiled and reached out to pat her friend's hand before settling back and pulling her feet up.

"Now why don't you tell me who Tara is and then fill me in on the situation here. I'm not sure how much you should tell me about my 'future' though just in case it is my future and I go and mess it all up. You know how they always say on TV?" Buffy smiled, proud of herself for resisting temptation . . . although she wasn't that good. There was something she did want to know. "Except for Spike. Everyone keeps bringing him up so I want to know what his deal is. Please tell me you did not really say he has the hots for me."

Stay cool Will, you have gone through worse things then this strangeness. The witch took a few deep breaths trying to regain her center balance She laughed at her friends words then threw her arms around the younger blonde girl. “I might be older but you still know all the right things to say.” she laughed relaxing pulling her legs up on the couch sitting kinda sideways. “I feel like we've been dumped in funky town only not the dance version. And yeah vampire doctors? I think that's more creepy then the run of the mill kind at least we know how to take care of those.”

She was aware of how these past/future things could go and the witch didn't want to throw anything off it's natural course so she paused picking her details wisely before telling Buffy anything. First though she tip toed around the Tara issue a little, she had no idea how a younger version of her best friend would react to it just yet so she figured Spike would soften the blow. “Well Spike has become more or less our pet vampire, he can't hurt anyone other than demons anymore because these group of wacky commando army dudes called the initiative put a chip in his brain so no more rawr I'm going to suck your blood for Spike..and yeah he had a huge honking thing for you totally insane and in love kinda thing, and um well you two kinda did the nasty.”

Willow began to fidget with the selves of her sweater and bit her lip looking at Buffy, she shouldn't hesitate this much, it was silly, she'd one this once again and was going to get the same reaction as the first time because this was still her best friend she was faced with. She smiled and looked at Buffy. “Well Buffy, Oz left me and not too long after that when we hit collage, I meet someone else, someone who's really important to me. Tara, we meet in a wicca after school group but they were nothing bunch a bunch of wanna blessed bes, so we started getting together after class and well one thing lead to another and I found there was more between Tara and I then just magic. I fell in love with her Buffy, I still am pretty madly really. You were the first person I came out to, so yeah I'm really gay, in the I want to be with women kind of way. But there's more to the story then that...” The look on Willow's face grew sad, hesitating to speak further seeing it was still hard to deal with even if Tara had appeared there with her.

"Well he wasn't that bad," Buffy blinked and wondered why the heck she felt compelled to defend the guy and decided it must still be the guilt. "I mean okay, I wouldn't want him taking blood or anything but he seemed nice enough, and . . . okay. You know things are bad when you feel guilty for being rude to vampires." Buffy smiled and laughed lightly. "But hey, someone told me the vamps here glitter. That's new."

"Wait, stop, back up, rewind. Spike and I did whatta-hubba?" Buffy's face was so horrorstruck that if she'd been thinking about it she might worry that it would stick that way. Her and Spike? Her and Spike?! What kind of sick sense of humor had Willow developed in the whatever number of years between where Buffy had come from and where she was now. "Please, please tell me your joking. Was I possessed?!"

Buffy was only vaguely aware of what Willow was telling her because she was still very stuck in the 'I've been sucked into a parallel world where Spike is boyfriend material' state of mind. She started to pick up and pay attention again right around the time that Willow got to 'I fell in love with her' and looked up blinking. "Huh?" She shook her head and brought her fingers up to her temples and started doing a slow massage. She wanted to go home. She wanted her nice safe, predictable bad-guy filled Sunnydale. She felt bad for ever feeling bored and wanting some excitement.

"Right, sorry." She looked up apologetically and reached out to touch her friend's hand. "I'm trying to take all this in but I think it's going too fast for me. It's been a weird night. Okay so Tara . . . she's your girlfriend?"

Willow had deliberately held back further information about spike back, she knew there were some things the younger version of Buffy just couldn't handle, though the witch felt bad censoring the details of the other girl's life. It's for her own good. Willow told her self as the Buffy took in the information even if she was going a few miles a minute explaining herself. “Um nice is not a word I would use with Spike not then and certainly not now, he's more or less useful in the you have to pay him off and and not stake his ass for information.”

She tired her best to calm Buffy down over the fact that she actually had boinked the British nuisance of a vampire trying not to make it seem like a horrible thing. Tara, Tara was the new subject which made her squirm on the couch. “Yes and no. It started out really good and were were girlfriends for a year and a half but I became very into the magics and used a lot of dark magic, Tara saw this and freaked out, we split up for a while and then I went without magic cold turkey to get her back. I managed to win her trust, we shared a room in your house together again.” She smiled weakly.

“But it wasn't meant to be this guy W-Warren was on a rampage and shot at you it was a non fatal hit but one of the stray bullets hit her, blood went everywhere and, and she was gone.” She then explained to Buffy how she had gone dark and evil and almost ended the world, the parts about going to London over the summer with Giles to regain control of her new stronger powers, that she ended up there in the underworld never reaching Sunnydale. “I'd just gotten to a point in my life where I was ready to live without her, I thought I'd never see her again until about a day later she showed up taken from our last fight, in her world we never got back together yet and she also hadn't died or had any idea she was going to until I told her what had happened.”

Her eyes were sad and watery it was still a hard tale to tell. “We're trying to work it out Buff, she means the world to me.” She nodded with a smile on her face. “Wow, never meant for this reunion to be total major dragging.” She laughed. “Well Xander was engaged to an ex-demon and Giles is apparently a really good singer!” She giggled hoping to make things a bit more light. “You can ask me any questions you want I'll answer.” She nodded and reached out to take her best friends hand giving it a squeeze.

"And this lead to him and me making with the smoochies how? I mean come on he has more bleach in his hair than my mom uses to clean the bathtub, plus the whole evil vamp thing. " Buffy made a face and tried to picture that and couldn't do it without feeling the urge to burst out laughing or vomit. Spike as she knew him was so not even an option.

Buffy listened to her whole tale about Willow's decent into darkness and magical rehab and by the time she got to Xander's demon and Giles, Buffy was openly gaping at her. Her mind was racing, protesting the information given and she was fighting an instinct to cover her ears as if she knew somehow the information was forbidden to her, or should be.

Finally she stood, slipping her hands gently out of Willow's and began pacing the room, uncertain what to say or how to react. She took a moment to gather her thoughts and then pulled in a deep breath and let it out slowly before facing her again.

"Okay, so . . . wow. I . . . I don't really know where to start . . . and, and y'know . . . no. No questions. No questions from Buffy. I'm just gonna . . . eesh." She made a face and sat back down trying to look apologetic and not at all how she felt which was on the verge of screaming from information overload. She tried one more time to get herself together and slightly less insane sounding. "I'm thinking . . . I'm thinking that you probably shouldn't tell me anything else. I mean . . . as of right now, if I go back I'm probably gonna go find this Warren kid and pound his face into a table. And maybe that will stop him from shooting me and then killing your girlfriend, or maybe it won't. But if it does, potentially that's a good thing, in theory, except it's like in those science fiction shows Xander likes so much. I stop him from killing her but maybe something worse happens as a result, or something just as bad. I don't think I want to know anything else about what's supposed to happen. Too much pressure . . . I know that makes meaningful conversation a little difficult but, but I think it's the right thing to do."

Willow watched the reaction from her friend she figured was coming but Willow had to share had to tell someone what had gone on and what was going on, besides if she didn't at least address some of it Buffy would feel shut out and she didn't want to do that. Some times she felt bad for not being able to control her tongue.

Willow stood and walked over to where the frantically pacing Buffy was standing, Willow simply reached out and touched her friends arm. "It's ok, I know this is all so unbelievable and hard for you to hear. I'm sorry I kind of just let it all out like that but it was mostly just piling on top of me starting to ya know just smoosh me." She sighed but smiled at the younger blonde. "You're my best friend and as odd as it all is I am glad you are here."

"Do you want to go for pancakes maybe? And I promise no crazy talk to over load your brains. There must still be other things we can talk about...or um, if you need time to just, be alone and veggie it out I can leave you be. It's your choice." Willow hugged Buffy. "We'll be ok, we always are."

"I think I'm actually going to beg a raincheck on those pancakes," Buffy gave her an apologetic look. "Nothing personal but I just had dinner with mom a few hours ago so I'm kind of stuffed . . . and I think that you're right. I need to get my head on straight. I know, I know. Giles would say I should be ready for every situation, but I don't think that they covered this in the slayer-handbook. I'll be honest I'm kind of wigging. I think the best thing I can do right now is maybe catch a few hours of sleep and tackle this head on once I wake up."

She worried that Willow's feelings would be hurt for backing out on more time together, but she was a little overwhelmed. As much as she'd insisted that Willow was Willow was Willow, she was but then wasn't at the same time. Everything about this place was all topsy turvy and here her best friend was older than her, a bit more confident even though she'd obviously been through a hell of a lot, and Buffy was . . . scared. She hated to admit it but she'd never been in a situation that she wasn't certain she couldn't get out of before at least somewhere in her subconscious. Now she was lost, overwhelmed, and a little frightened. There were people here she had responsibilities to, only they weren't the same as she had last seen them. It was a little staggering to say the least.
