Prompt: Dragon Quest VIII, Eight/Medea: stolen moments - the air was perfumed by the first flowers of spring
A/N: This prompt is for March 17. Sorry it's late.
The air was perfumed by the first flowers of spring. Medea tossed her head into the breeze, enjoyed its caress as it ruffled her mane. When she closed her eyes and breathed deeply, she could almost imagine she was human again, back in Trodain. She imagined the meadow near the castle was already spread with tiny flowers of gold and red and blue. She allowed herself a moment of homesickness and then whinnied a sad sigh.
"Everything okay?
A gentle hand dropped onto her flank, stroked its way up her back, lingered on the graceful arch of her neck. She couldn't help but lean against Eight and wish she was human, wish it was her nakedness he touched instead of horseflesh.
"I thought..." He maneuvered around to her nose; his fingers lingered on the soft skin there. A flush crept into his cheeks and he fell silent.
Medea thought he was cute when he was embarrassed. In fact, she thought Eight was pretty cute all of the time. Maybe she'd never really acknowledged it when they were growing up. They'd spent so much time together that being with him just seemed...natural. But, now that she was betrothed to a horrible, selfish boy and was so distanced from humanity by the curse she bore, she'd had a lot of time to think, a lot of time to observe the kind, brave man her childhood friend had become.
She nudged him, tried to remind him he didn't have to be shy with her.
"I thought maybe we could take a walk down to the Spring." His hand slid up her nose to ruffle the mane that spilled between her ears and onto her forehead. "I miss...the time we spent together...before."
She nodded, accidentally tossing him aside. He responded with a grin and fell into step beside her when she clatter-clopped her way across the clearing toward the spring that would make her human again.
He seemed as anxious as she and by the time she was human, he stood in the water beside her, had gathered her into his arms. They had so little time; no time for a walk, no time for long talks, no time for just enjoying each other's company like they had before.
Their mouths merged, tongues tangling in a desperate quest. She found her way past his tunic and into his pants before he managed to sneak trembling fingers into her dress. His hands were cold, raised goosebumps as they searched and squeezed.
"Hurry," she mumbled, her lips hard against his. "There's so little time." She fought the tears, the desperation as her body tingled with magic that threatened to fail.
They fell into the shallow water. Eight shoved her dress up to her waist while she freed him. If her father caught them, the young hero would be dead, but if they hurried--before the magic failed--he'd never, ever know.
Hurry. Hurry. She felt so distant now.
He thumbed her clit until her body tensed, squeezed it gently between his fingers until the soft tremors built. Then he straddled her and plunged into her, driving his cock deeper and deeper inside her with each thrust.
The orgasm hit her hard, robbing her of breath, rumbling through her body until she lay exhausted on the wet sand. It wasn't what she'd expected. It filled her with hope and despair. She'd never give herself so completely to the one she was meant to marry. But, if Eight would stay with her, beside her, she'd give to him freely all that was her.
He gathered her into his arms as the magic retreated, held her while she struggled to retain human form.
"I'll wait for you," he promised. "I'm sure there will be other times."
"Next time, I'll ride you," she vowed as she shifted.
And Eight kissed her on her soft muzzle, captured her face in his hands. Then they rose and rejoined the others and Medea knew she could endure until the next time they could steal desperate moments alone together again.
