You know Kain so intimately, and it shows. I love how he forces himself to endure, what he clings to when there's nothing to support him. And she's magnificent, of course, as unpredictable and cutting as her element. The imagery you use here -- the falling is so visceral, and the sex so violent -- is just gorgeous. Guh. The interplay between them, too, how they're detached and invested at the same time, how inhuman she is and how painfully human he still is, in spite of everything. It's wonderful. I love it.
