She went into muggle London and hid in an average looking pub that was crowded enough to feel full. She thought about all that had happened since the end; how they lost old friends and found new allies in the most unexpected places, how she would give anything to fade into the background, how it was so hard to find someone who wanted her for her instead of for her fame.
“Another, miss?”
“Make it two,” a female voice said.
Ginny looked up to protest but the words died in her throat as she was met with Tonks’ smiling face.

"Can I join you?"
"Go ahead," Ginny replied, motioning to the stool next to her.
"Why you hiding out in here?"
"I just don't want to have to deal with the walking reminders of my past that like to call themselves reporters."
"Getting rough again?"
"If they aren't on me for not being seen with Harry they want to talk again about every little thing I did in the war or before it for that matter. Even the Chamber of Secrets. Sometimes I wish they would just stick to trying to plaster my non-existent love life across the front page."

Tonks sipped her drink and looked thoughtfully at Ginny before talking.
"I suppose the fat that tommorrow is tomorrow makes them a bit more rabid for the gory details."
"Yeah," Ginny sighed. "But it doesn't stop me not wanting to think about such a depressing anniversary."
"If I could get them to leave you alone I would, you know that." Tonks set her bottle down and looked the red head in the eye.
"I know, just being able to talk with you helps. It helps a lot." Holding Tonks' gaze she reached out and covered the metamorphagus' hand, squeezing gently.
