WHO: Evan and Harvey
WHAT: Snoop times? And I don't mean Snoop Dogg.
WHERE: Grand Central, of course!
WHEN: 11/08, nighttime.
RATING: Evan will undoubtedly curse. So, med/high.
Evan could have lied and claimed to not still be rattled by seeing someone who looked just like his late wife. He could have easily done it, and it probably would have been true any other time. He'd seen women with Olivia's smile or her hairstyle or the same look she had in her eyes when she disapproved of something Evan said, and he'd never been rattled before. But this was different. This woman had looked exactly like her, and even a week later, he was still rattled.
Normally, his sketches varied. Normally, he drew things relevant to now. He'd stopped tormenting himself by drawing her long ago, but it seemed, now that he'd seen Vivian and she'd gone and reminded him of what he'd lost, Olivia was all he could draw.
His companioning journal was full of memories that the two had shared, too. Vacations to random places like Maui or Greece, the list of names that they'd come up with for future children… all of that. Seeing someone who looked so much like her had raised all those memories, and it made it difficult all over again. He stopped suddenly, closing the journal and putting it down.
And all of a sudden, he needed a drink. Water, liquor… whichever. Preferably liquor. And strong stuff.
Standing up, he headed toward the kitchen to see what he could scrounge up that night. It didn't even have to taste too good. Just be strong enough to be a good distraction.
