Two weeks. It had been two whole weeks since Rae had initially been put in the infirmary for her cold (or flue or whatever the hell it was) from falling off the boat and into the water. Sarah had been concerned to start with, but once she was sure that her friend was okay, it was hard not to find the whole situation so damn funny. She was above making fun of sick people while they were sick, though, so she'd told herself that she'd wait until Rae wasn't dying or anything like that to make with the teasing and the banter. In theory, two weeks hadn't seemed like a long time to wait. But she'd never noticed just how much time she spent with Rae until she wasn't there! Two weeks was a hell of a lot of time to sit around twiddling your thumbs in between doing supply runs and whatever. Considering that getting sick wasn't on the top of her list of things to do, Sarah hadn't gone to the infirmary to visit. She had, however, sent notes. Notes with stupid jokes because laughter was the best medicine and all that.
A Jewish woman had 2 chickens. One got sick, so the woman made chicken soup out of the other one to help the sick one get well.

There was this Eskimo chick who spent the night with her boyfriend. Next morning she found out she was 6 months pregnant.

My mother never saw the irony in calling me a son-of-a-bitch.
Thinking up the jokes and writing them into little notes didn't get rid of the sense of boredom. And perhaps she was crazy for saying so, but going out and actually seeking out some of those zombie bastards didn't completely satisfy her boredom. And that was why she was so glad when she finally got to go to the infirmary. Sarah had been on her way in when she saw Rae actually coming out of the place. With a bit of a smirk on her lips, she walked right up to her best friend. "It's about time you stopped being sick with the flu, cold, hypothermia, whatever-the-fuck-it-was. My life was horrendously empty without you."
