With Voldemort's disappearance, the Death Eaters retained control of the Ministry, their reign arising from out of the crumbling ashes of the Battle of Hogwarts. The magical world waited with bated breath to see what was to come. The changes, however, started off impossibly small. But they did come. Following a series of muggle attacks on wizarding communities, muggleborns slowly began to lose their rights in the name of their supposed protection. Falling to the wayside in the community at large, they came to be an unprotected, at-risk population, easy to exploit. Now, fourteen years later, a hierarchy has emerged based on blood status. Those at the top seem to have all the rights, while every step could lead to possible ruin. Those at the bottom seem to have nothing to lose while those in the middle have the largest array of choices. Everything a character does can have potential consequences. What choices will yours make? The Purist Initiative is a dark post-war AU RPG where Voldemort's ideas of blood purity has created a caste system within the closed Wizarding World. Too many Muggles had been killed and as much as the Ministry of Magic had tried, they couldn't contain all the questions and whispers. The family of the victims demanded information, they demanded answers. And while the Ministry never confirmed the existence of magic it became impossible to stop all the whispers.An American group, known as the New Salem Philanthropic Society became active once again. By 2001, governments around the world were swept up into the belief. Ministries all over the world were pressured to turn over their witches and wizards to the Muggle governments. Many countries resisted at first, but one by one they all surrendered. Save one. One Ministry kept calm and carried on. The United Kingdom is the last safe refuge for witches and wizards. The magic running through the hills and valleys is too old, too strong, and too powerful to be so easily handed over to fanatics. Rather than bowing to another dictator, the Ministry of Magic opened its doors to international witches and wizards and created a new governing body. The Wizengamot was restructured, providing seats to foreign countries. New laws were written. And the primary focus of the Ministry became one of survival and growth. The borders of every magical town and institution have been closed. Travel into the Muggle world is only allowed at certain times to help ensure the safety of witches and wizards. But is it enough to combat the heightened attacks by the New Salem Philanthropic Society? With technology advancing, their attacks have become more measured, more deadly, and far more vicious. Victory won, Harry Potter and his friends were recruited by the newly instated Minister for Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt, to aid in the initiative to clean out the remnants of their enemies. The victims of the war rebuilt and reclaimed their places in the world, finding that a simple life was indeed possible. Marriages were celebrated and families started, energies were thrown into building careers. In general life became stable and witches and wizards were capable of focusing on all things personal instead of keeping attentions tuned into the Daily Prophet for news on the war. Harry Potter, now Head of the Aurors after having reshaped the department along with his best friends, continues his vigilance against the Dark Arts while now enjoying being a husband and father of three. With this newfound life there will continue to be new challenges to face and a future that will always remain unpredictable. Vindicatus is a book canon Trio Era game that focuses on what life is like after the defeat of Voldemort.
