Wednesday we got hit with not one but two low pressure systems hanging over the midwest. This meant I ached. I wanted to stay in bed, take prescription pain relievers and sleep it off.
( shopping )
sweet potato crunch scroll down a bit.
( Thursday's Guest )
unexpected guest
My mother and brother are avid photographers. They both stood at the back door watching while this bird strutted around the yard. Brother eventually picks up the camera and says: "The viewfinder is empty". *head/desk* Yup, dingdong didn't take the lense cap off. By the time Mr. Sg got out our el-cheapo camera and got near a window, the bird was done laughing it's ass off at the humans and began to fly away. To add insult to this episode, he curved close to the house, out over the maximum part of the yard then flew out of sight.

...errr. Anyone enjoying the holiday weekend enough to want to do some beta work for me? You need a break from eggnog and Christmas shopping, riiight? *puppy dog eyes*
These are the things wot I might need a teensy bit of help with:
1. a Kirk/Spock 2. a Remus/Sirius 3. a Sheldon/Leonard
Umm, so these are all for fests, except #3, so I can't give tons of details, but they're like, not at all scary, really. Nothing terribly squicky or sad or scary or anything. I can e-mail you details if you wants them.
Also, there is something that I am midway through writing (well. Not midway. but started, at least) and could use some cheerleading help on. If anyone is extra specially helpful, and wants to have capslocky chat conversations with me. Because capslock is love, and you know, I just need someone to help me focus on ficcage instead of pumpkin cheesecake.
Pleeeeeease? I will <3 you forever!

Let's see--
1000 words of NaNo today. I'm at least a day behind as far as wordcount goes. Very frustrating. But I am getting there.
Gaming machine attacked by toxic malware today, so I lost at least an hours worth of time, and had a bit of a fit trying to get the bloody thing *off* my computer. *sighs* Gone, now, but really not a happy thing.
For those of you who have followed my family issues with my mother's side of the family--good thanksgiving this year. There were only eight of us total, so it was nice and quiet, which means no huge blowups.

Because I have been baking a lot lately (and am still baking for Thanksgiving, currently, as we speak), and have not had a lot of sleep, and have had a lot of caffeine, and need to come up with ways to amuse myself, such as creating silly polls
Because I have been baking a lot lately, and have been wondering about the ways in which other people bake, and thinking about food in general, because food is good
And because I am procrastinating on writing, because I cannot and will not manage to write anything coherent for NaNo or any other story, when I am this sleep-deprived:
( I present to you, dear flist, the following poll )
22 Comments | Post A Comment | Add to Memories | Tell a Friend | Link
1) I'm grateful for my family, friends, and pets. (hugs f-list) 2) I am glad to be able to help prepare a big meal for family tomorrow. 3) I'm grateful to the stock people at the store who work for corporations and not the grocery chain that were smiling, happy and helped the short person reach things. 4) I am glad to be able to pay most of my bills on time. 5) I'm grateful to have one of the girls home for this holiday, even if she does leave the house lights on at all hours.
~~
So, what are you all grateful for this week?

Last week, I mentioned how the maternal unit's doc likes to spin the wheel and come up with scary shit to pay off his condo had diagnosed Mom as having major scary illnesses. This has happened each holiday season for the last three years.
Recently, some kind soul who I am sure meant well emailed me a link to a medical article. This was the type of thing written in highly detailed language and will hopefully in the future either be refuted or be dumbed down so the lay person can understand it better. The way I interpreted it (remember, I put sexy in dyslexic) was that fibro is related to multiple scro - M.S. I tried to read this thing in a brighter light. Couldn't manage it. Now, I am wanting to send a reply email to the alarmist jerk person who thought they were being nice.
What do you think of this:
Thank you so much for that little ray of sunshine. Would you care to pee on my Post Toasties to make my day complete? Just in case you missed the memo, Sg is a depressive along with having fibro. This lovely article has set me to thinking all sorts of lovely thoughts more appropriate to a chainsaw massacre than to the holiday season. In conclusion, I really hope you drop a frozen turkey on your foot, get backed over by a semi and that a 50 pound buzzard takes a dump on your head.
So, is this too snarky?
Gotta share one happy link check this out I think unbroken_halo and I need this tote bag.
In the meantime, I'm going to curl up somewhere and wait for unsuspecting feet to lick nibble on. Anyone want their toes chewed?

I'm suffering from a sudden bout of freedom XD The possibilities! Aha! Hasn't really hit me yet, but I'm planning to really sink my teeth into my santas_lap fic this week, and then the Draco Big Bang, which is my December project. 20k of Draco-centric fic? Yes please! Bet you'll never guess my pairing of choice *rolls eyes*
I'm so predictable. But it's been a long time since I've actually written some decent Lucius/Draco, and I'm feeling the urge. Actually, I'm feeling the urge to just write in general. And to crash out on the grass with a bottle of water and read books until my eyes go funny - because that's just what summer is about. Well, that, camping, and cycling down by the harbour.
On another note, how much do I love True Blood? Gah. Violent and raunchy and full of non-sparkly vampires. The books the show is based on are pretty epic too - I read Dead Until Dark today, and I'm going back to the bookstore tomorrow to get the next two (I have vouchers, so yay, non-guilt-inducing book splurge! Although my guilt is negligable, even when I'm meant to be buying food - priorities are funny things.)

Please post your own wish list of ten things, whether fandom or real life).
I'm not going to do the formal wish list group this year. I'm just posting my wishes in my journal. I do like to read everyone's wishes to see if there is something I can fulfill.

Thanks to the_minx_17, I have not experienced helium hand and volunteered to pinch hit. blame it on the phase of the moon...I volunteered.
I spent this afternoon writing on my Nano attempt.
7948 / 25000 words. 32% done!
I looked over what I had, scrapped a section, did a rewrite and my goal will be 25K by the end of the month. Anything above that number is a bonus at this point.

I keep seeing pleas for pinch hitters. Somebody stop me from volunteering. Seriously, there's enough going on around here....

the_minx_17 wrote a wonderful post yesterday about bdsm. Her post inspired irana to write a post on consent.
I'd like to add a few thoughts on Polyamory.
My name is sg. I play in an organization that expects its members to behave in a chivalrous manner and show respect to all who attend their events no matter their orientation. As a result of this, I have met folks who practice Polyamory.
( rough draft, subject to change with discussion )
