"As I recall, I threw myself out a window." I knew I would enjoy this story as soon as I read these bantering lines.
"You must be feeling better," Filius remarked. "You're almost back to your usual cantankerous self." I love when people know each other well. (: And yes, Severus, that was a rather creative threat.
I believe we were all frightened into action when Horace offhandedly pointed out that first-year Hufflepuffs have a way of getting lost and ending up in the most peculiar places. Oh, laughter, all these comments are just keeping me constantly chuckling! "Minerva said something along those lines as well, although I believe the term she used was 'adventurous.'" Too good. What rich dialogue! And of course Minerva would use that word.
The scene with Filius was one of the best Snape scenes I've ever read. Absolutely fantastic dialogue.
"Good deed? Oh dear," Filius said. "Is that what you think you heard? Severus, Minerva and I were not making fun of you. She was poking fun at me, and for a different reason entirely." Oh, yes, I can quite imagine that. Laughed at the interaction with Minerva.
My goodness. This story. Tear-jerker in the best of ways. I adored watching it move from snarky banter to sentimental statements by the end. I am so very relieved Snape chose to come back.
I am in love with your Flitwick. He is an impeccable Ravenclaw. Snape is equally excellent. Fabulous story, well worth a second read!
