ART: "The Years in Her Life and the Life in Her Years" for vivien529
Recipient: [info]vivien529
Author/Artist: [info]chazpure
Title: The Years in Her Life and the Life in Her Years
Rating: PG-13
Pairings: Minerva McGonagall/Alastor Moody
Media: pencil on paper, slight clean-up in Photoshop
Warnings: none
Summary: Number 12 Grimmauld Place was dilapidated, moth-eaten and doxie-riddled...but it had not always been so. Minerva well remembered one particular velvet-cloaked nook, and the tales it could have told.
Author's/Artist's Notes: For [info]vivien529, who said something Minerva-centric would suit. I hope you enjoy this!

Yay for lasting love! I love McG's ecstatic look in the first panel, and Moody's flirtatious smile in the second - they're both so awesome. I can totally imagine the two of them sneaking off during some boring party hosted by the Blacks, heh. :-)

Despite the inevitable but superficial changes of time, the important things in life remain, and you can certainly tell from the expressions on their faces that nothing of value has changed for either of them. This is lovely! :D

Oh, what a lovely concept! I love how you've aged them both.

Oh, that is just wonderful! I'm a real sucker for costumes in HP art and those are fantastic! I love all the changes between the two dates -- and the similarities. I so want to know the story between them now! Wonderful stuff! :)

This is lovely - I love to see them as an old couple and still fiery.

Eee, this is fabulous! I love that they're so gorgeous in the first one, but still look like them. And the second piece - they're so full of personality (love Minerva's boots and tights!), and so clearly happy.

lovely! I adore all the little signs of aging, the spider, the tatty drapes, Minerva's more matronly gown, etc.

It's really wonderful, and the expressions of delight are priceless.

Minerva is getting a lot of great action this year!!

Both pictures are lovely by themselves, but together they eloquently tell a beautiful love story. Well done!

Oh, fantastic! Physical changes all over from first to last, but the emotions stay the same. Very nice!

Eee yay! I love these drawings.

That Alastor - what a rake! And Minerva is gorgeous in both years.

I especially loved how you included the more recent view of the couple.

Thank you. This is delightful.

You can just sense that even in the current day picture, they are still crazy about one another...this is beautiful

Gorgeous. I love the sense of abandon in Minerva's expression, circa 1946 (by the way, how hot is she in that picture?!); and Moody's little smirk in the second picture. And, omg, Minerva's socks! :D

This is great! I love the contrast between the characters in the picture, but the similarities of their pose. I particlarly like the way they have both softened with the years.

That's very sweet. I like how everything in the scene ages - the surroundings as well as the people.
Also, it's pretty nifty how they're in almost the same position both times, just in the second one they aren't as flexible anymore!
I also like the thing at his side where he keeps his wand in that looks like the sword things in old movies! <3

Very sweet! The second portrait is my favorite, I think: I adore Moody's expression and Minerva's stockings.

Beautifully drawn (I love all the details you put in), and such a sweet story behind the art -- it's wonderful to see them still so in love after all those years.

I adore these! They both look so sexy and virile in the first. (I adore Alastor's wand holster!) But the best part is that there is a second pick to show them still sexy to each other after all of the years!

Nice! Especially the second one, with their sexy legs and Moody's crazy eye, and their little spider friend checking out the action. Although Minerva's askew spectacles in the first picture are such a lovely touch too...

How lovely! I like the symmetry between the two pictures, and you have done a really good job at making the characters look age-appropriate in both cases.

Aahaha, fabulous! I adore the idea of this pairing; it just works for me for some reason. And I like the way you've depicted them here, with many things changing over time but the essential elements still there many years later.

So much nice detail to see here, but I think my favorite bit is Minerva's face in the first picture: her head thrown back, glasses askew and hair falling out of place.

The one from 95 is so much more...either romantic or hot or both or something. More magnetic. And I love Minerva's Wicked Witch of the East socks. And those curtains!

Here for another look thanks to today's rec at crack_broom. You know, I love the idea of a long standing relationship. This really is about beauty being in the eyes of the beholder.
