Sadie wasn't sure what was going on, but every time she looked at the newspaper article in front of her, her stomach lurched and her eyes started to well up with tears. It wasn't like she wasn't used to people staring at her, but the fact that there was something like this about her greatly frustrated her. Naturally things would have ended this way, because if they hadn't, it would have been too good to be true. In truth, she was't sure if she was supposed to be laughing or crying, and as she watched the other Huffs scurrying around the common room, she knew she had to get out. With the magazine curled up in her fist, Sadie wandered to the lake in hopes of being alone. The last thing she wanted was for one more person to corner her and ask her what she and Harry were fighting about, and if she saw one of Harry's friends once more in the corridor, she was entirely positive that they would burn a hole in her skull with their stares alone. She knew that she could get through this, but at what cost? Was it the right decision that she made? After minutes upon minutes of wandering around outside and wondering where she should go to next, Sadie saw a familiar posture sitting comfortably at the edge of the water. It was still too cold to go in, but she wandered over and curled up beside him, handing over the article in silence. "I think I owe you an apology. I think you were right." |
