Have you ever joined a community only to find out it was full of elitist, unpleasant players and/or dictatorial mods? Want a go at serious playing in a relaxed setting where communical love and fun are at the forefront? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE.

Here, we're about everyone hanging out and exploring personas together and, above all, HAVING FUN. Welcome to Gungho Rodeo: a present time, non-au roleplay aimed at having fun rather than the unpleasant baggage that has a habit of coming with roleplay communities. I, the mod, am always at your disposal for questions, suggestions, comments, etc. Don't be afraid! Join the love!

Rules of Play

♥ Post twice a month.
That is the limit for now, it may change depending on need. If it does change, I will inform the community immediately in a mod post. You will be warned if it is the last week of the month and you have not yet met the requirement. If you do not meet the requirement and have neither given a hiatus notice/spoken with me, you will be cut. You will have to wait two weeks before you can reapply. Valid posts are logs and journal entries. Voice mails and text messages and etc do not count towards your post requirement.

♥ Logs.
Post your logs! Behind lj-cuts! If it is explicit, please label it as such. Past that, there is no required format for logging, but PLEASE TAG YOUR LOGS WITH THE NAMES OF THE PARTICIPANTS. Also note; no commenting on logs in character. Your claims can't read the logs, so therefore they can't comment.

♥ Playing style.
Paragraph format is most conducive to development, depth, all that good stuff. That is the preferred style of the community, so if you've never done it before, give it a shot! Also: If your claim chats with another claim on AIM like, that counts as a log too~! Whose to say Kuuchan doesn't cruise the internet and chat with her pals? Also! When playing on InsaneJournal, make the log-post in the Gungho Rodeo community rather than your claim's journal.

♥ Realism.
This is a non-au roleplay. Therefore, please only apply with people you KNOW. A special exception is made for relatives in that they are, of course, all but impossible to know much more than that they exist (or are, in some cases, purported to exist by the real). You will be expected to both keep them in character AND know what is going on in their real lives as far as real life schedule. This means you can't do things like make kyo a heavy drinker when the real has directly said he doesn't like alcohol or have Gackt in Tokyo when the real is touring Korea (unless you have a ridiculously amazing excuse). No swooning chick Shinyas, no ho Toshiyas, none of that. No swooning chickery of any kind please, unless you can provide media evidence that your claim (if they are male) is, in fact, a swooning chick.

NOTE: If you play a foreigner and they do not know Japanese in real life, THEY DO NOT KNOW IT HERE EITHER. The default language in this game is Japanese; it is assumed everything anyone writes is in Japanese. If you play a foreigner, SPECIFY WHAT LANGUAGE YOU ARE POSTING IN IN HANDY DANDY BRACKETS AT THE TOP OF JOURNAL POSTS LIKE SO: [english]. When playing, take into account that they are speaking a foreign language to communicate if one of them does not know Japanese. This means when Die and Piggy hang out, Die cannot be speaking fluent English and neither is Piggy speaking fluent Japanese. IN THESE CASES, NPC TRANSLATORS ARE COOL. Keep it real.

♥ Carry over history.
There is no real rule concerning this. If you claim a previously claimed person, the players who were involved with that previous incarnation of your claim are responsible for informing you of this history. No one is forced to pick up history, but you ARE expected to listen and work with the other players to a compromise. This is subject to change if there is a need to and, if it is, a mod post will be put up immediately to inform you of the rule change.

No-Nos

The following will NOT be tolerated:

!♥! NO GODMODDING. This means you cannot control another claim unless you have expressed permission from the player of the claim you make do something. If you do this after THREE slaps on the wrist, all your claims are forfeit and you will not be allowed to return.

!♥! NO TAKING OOC ISSUES OUT IC. If you and another player have issues, they are NOT allowed to influence in character relationships/interaction. If said issues cannot be worked out civilly between the two of you, inform me and we will find a solution together.

!♥! TYPING WITH YOUR EYEBALLS. It is expected that all players know basic grammar and spelling. If your claim fails at typing, that is acceptable and relevant to their commenting on posts/posting. However, in play, you must type accurately to the best of your ability.

!♥! IGNORING REALITY. This means that, for example, you cannot have your person get shot the day before the real has a live. Hopefully no one will be getting shot at all, but the point is you cannot violate the reals life in a glaring way. If you post a log/post that does so, we will discuss it and see if there's not a way to work with it while also not violating reality. If you are unsure of whether or not something you want to do falls into this category, you're more than welcome to poke me about it beforehand. Do this on purpose/repeatedly and all your claims will be forfeit. However, you'll be able to re-apply after two weeks.

!♥! BEING A JERKFACE. Don't be a jerkface. If you can't not be a jerkface, I reserve the right to kick you after fair warning.

!♥! REFUSING TO PLAY WITH PEOPLE. The point of joining a community is to play with other people. No NOT playing with people because you don't like the claim they are playing. Give everyone a fair chance.

!♥! APPLYING WITH A DIFFERENT NAME TO GET PAST THE TIMETABLE. Don't do that. That'd be unfair to others and just plain silly. Your claims would be forfeit and you won't be welcome back.

!♥! NO ALL KNOWING BEHAVIOR. Your claim cannot read minds. Nor can they know things they aren't told or are present for. Do not bring OOC knowledge into IC.

!♥! CLAIMING SOMEONE YOU PERSONALLY DON'T LIKE. I know this sounds silly, but please don't claim someone you don't like.

Conduct

♥ First and foremost, respect your fellows.
This covers from how you treat each other in OOC conversations to how you play. Problems are often more rooted in misunderstandings than anything else, so by respectful discussion both mature and with willingness to resolve the conflict a lot of unneeded player drama can be avoided.

♥ Listen to your mod.
I am a person very open to others' opinions and views. I'm running this community so everyone who joins it can have fun in a creative and ... FUN environment. Any issues you have, bring them up to me in a respectful manner and all will be gravy.

♥ No throwing hate.
If you are a hateful person, you can still join - just keep that hate to yourself. No terrorizing other players, no inciting riots or all out assaults on other players.

♥ Don't like something about the comm?
Then bring it up! As long as you can offer your opinion in a respectful, thoughtful manner, all voices will be heard. Changes will be made based on popular vote (unless it goes against the nature of the comm). Players are always welcome to discuss anything and everything with the mod.

Claiming

♥ Who can be claimed?
For now, acceptable claims are Japanese celebrities and their relatives. This means you are not limited to Japanese musicians, but to any media/art/entertainment Japanese person. If you wish to claim a non-famous Japanese performer/entertainer/artist, please IM me first to inform me of who it is, what they do and some small amount of proof of some sort that they do, in fact, exist. Concerning relatives, as with the lesser known entertainers, you MUST IM me first and provide proof of their existence. As of now, no original characters are allowed.

♥ You are allowed up to four over a set duration of time. Two weeks between claims.

+ The timetable is staggered like this to hopefully regulate somewhat on the player quality. It is also to give the players time to feel out about how much they can truly handle/how much attention they can really give their claimed ones. And it also will hopefully allow everyone a fair shot at a favorite and yet still allow the people who like to play up to four heads in a community the ability to do so.

+ This timetable IS subject to change, depending on whatever flaws or needs in it arise. When this changes, a mod post concerning this will be immediately made available to alert everyone. Please also note you are allowed ONE hold at any given time.

NOTE: If there is an entertainer who lives in Japan or whose career is almost entirely dependent on Japan OR they have a close, meaningful real life relationship with one of the claimed Japanese, it is possible to join as them. However, you have to IM me and discuss it with me first before applying. And please pay careful attention to the condition that if you wish to join as someone with a real life relationship to a Japanese claim, the Japanese claim must already be in the community. For example, if you want to join as Paris Hilton, there must already be a Yoshiki present OR that Yoshiki has to apply before you. Unfortunately, if that Yoshiki is rejected, Paris will also be rejected by default. (T_T)
