Help a poor, lost soul out
So, I completely suck at console games and barely has any clue when it comes to its games. I'm usually a PC/tabletop girl but I got me a shiny new PS2 and I need something to play since I'm almost done with Resident Evil 4 now.

Mostly, I'm looking for car games, horror games and/or RPG's of the Baldur's Gate type. But really anything you think is great and feel needs to be played is much appriciated.

	RPGs you need to play: Final Fantasy X Final Fantasy XII Suikoden V the original .hack//GAME series (usually easy to find all four parts used) There is the Baldur's Game and Champions of Norrath games for PS2 as well, but I haven't played those yet. (Reply to this)

	I don't actually play many of those types of games, but I would say Silent Hill and Fatal Frame are some good bets for horror games. (Reply to this) (Thread)

Seconding the Silent Hill and Fatal Frame suggestions--I haven't played them yet, either, but that's mainly because I've only just gotten into gaming. The Silent Hill series is supposed to be one of the best horror series, and I've heard nothing but good about Fatal Frame and had a friend highly recommend it to me.

Also, I'd suggest, for an RPG, Kingdom Hearts. It's a really good game with a great story, something I wouldn't have believed before I started playing it.

Another good game is Okami--it is, hands down, the single prettiest game you will ever, ever play, and it's really, really good. The first time I completed a section and saw the gray, dead part of the world explode into a riot of green color and life, my breath was literally taken it, it was that gorgeous. I can't recommend it enough.

Seconding Okami :D It's one of my favorite games.

I played some of the first Fatal Frame game, but didn't get to far because it scared the pants off me XD The story is really interesting though.

Also, I'm throwing Shadow of the Colossus out there. It doesn't really fit into the categories you asked for, but it's a really great game, really different than a lot of what you see on the shelf.

	Seconding Shadow of the Colossus. I haven't played it (yet) but it looks amazing and sounds like it should be very interesting (principally because it's like no other game out there, from what I can tell). (Reply to this) (Parent)

	I just have to jump in and say Koudelka (ps1) and the follow-up series Shadow hearts games (ps2) are REALLY awesome. RPGs, but of the gothic-horror type and definitely creepy! There are so many games I've loved on the console, but those are the only creepyish one's I've played so... Yeah ^_^ Have fun with your new PS2! (Reply to this) (Thread)

Well..

For Horror, Silent Hills. If they haven't been put up there yet.

For RPGs, I'd suggest Shadow Hearts and Final Fantasies. But that depends... Shadow Hearts is a fairly short game, and FF's are NOTORIOUS for being long. It also depends on your play-type. (IE: if you look in Every possible room for something/anything.) But I've never played Baldur's Gate. :| So I really don't know how that is.
