WHO: Glory, Rory and Gio
WHAT: Glory and Gio are hanging out oh-so-innocently when Rory decides to test out his power.
WHEN: Friday, February 4; after school
WHERE: Spinelli Residence
RATING: PG
Glory had been over for a few hours already, and Gio still couldn't get Rory's voice saying she liked him a lot out of his head. It was hard for him to tell if that was the truth. She smiled at him, just as sweetly as everyone said she was, and sometimes when they were quiet and watching TV he'd look over at her and catch her looking at him, or vice versa. But those things … they were just the mark of being friends. Gio smiled at his other friends plenty, and sometimes he'd look over at them to check their reactions when they watched something. Not as much as he looked over at Glory, but Gio knew he liked her.
"Anyway," he was saying, in the middle of talking about his one after school activity, "we won the debate even after that whole fiasco, but only by a fraction." It was a story from earlier in the year, when one of the debate club members had been kicked off the team and left them a man short. "It's a shame we don't get to go up against other schools. We all know how each other sets up their arguments now so as long as you know who you're up against, you can find their weaknesses." In Gio's case, he was always heavy on science, but couldn't make up his mind about morality issues much of the time.
"Do you want a drink refill?" he asked, suddenly changing the subject as he looked at his own glass. "I'm gonna get more soon." Gio picked the glass up from his carpet where they were sitting at the foot of his bed, sloshing around the dark liquid inside.
