My name is Andy. I'm 20 and I live in Colorado. I had two pet mice, Spaz and Pockets, both female. Spaz got cancer, and my mom's cat got Pockets. I grew up with 4 dogs and 3 cats, in two households. My dad's dogs are Shiloh and Ace, both beagle bassets. We call them bagels. Ace is about 2, and Shi is about 7. My mom's dogs are Sparky and Belle, and I'm the one who takes care of them. Sparky is about 11, and a lab retriever mix. We have no idea what Belle is, since she was pulled out of a bag in a river. She's definetly part chow, but no idea other than that. I think she's about 5. Snickers was our first cat, an orange striped. He was a stray we took in, and took with us when we moved across town. He got hit by a car that was speeding down our street. The driver never stopped. We got Rascal about a year later, from my brother's friend. His cousin found the cat in the trunk of a car. We've had him about 4 years I think, which would make him about 5. My brother's friend's cat had kittens and we took one of those. His name is Darty, and he is the dirtiest cat I have ever met. He's about 2, and supposed to be a longhaired white cat. Because he never cleans himself, we have to keep him shaved, and he's only white right after a bath.
I've always wanted a pet tarantula, but Since two of my cats have been known bug-eaters, and an appropriate cage for the kind of tarantula I'd like (a red-toed climber) is much more expensive than I want to spend money on, along with the risk of being allergic to the bite or spines, I've never had one, and I'll likely not have one. I've also always wanted a pet snake. Because I love all things fuzzy, I'd only get a snake that eats insects. Those are all, unfortunately, smaller snakes, so I haven't been able to have one because I'm sure my cats would eat it.
I'm currently planning to get a hedgehog as my next pet. It's cute and looks fuzzy, and is prickly enough that I think my cat would leave it alone.
