Mod Post
*crawls out from under rock*
*clears throat*
Um, hello. So, friend_me has been, well, dead for about three months. On the whole, I think that's because I dropped the ball as a mod/owner (as much as I'd like that not to be true, it is). Anyway, stuff happens, we move on.
In the spirit of moving on, I'm going to pare down the info--mostly the lengthy explanation of rule no. 5. Most of what's in rule no. 5 could be included in an FAQ post instead of listed in the profile. Also, I think the "Guidelines/Etc." could be moved to an FAQ post (at least, most of what's in that section could work just as well in an FAQ post).
What I need (want, would like, etc.) from you guys is a list of questions you think should be on the FAQ. Just think about what you wondered about/weren't sure of when you came to friend_me for the first time. I'll also be consulting (ie, looking over) the Suggestion Box to see if anything brought up there warrants mention in the FAQ.
I've been mulling the idea over for awhile now and I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in a layout contest. So, would you be? (If so, would anyone be interested in being a temporary mod to help me get the contest and, later, the layout set up? Because I'm very CSS challenged.)
FAQ and (sort of) revamping aside, I'm going to officially discontinue the Monthly Meme Report--because there's no point in keeping it up if I'm not going to, you know, keep it up. Part of the purpose of the MMR was to announce new memes (in case you missed them). Another part was to keep track of memes without a lot of (or any, in a few cases) comments. I propose a regularly (would monthly/bimonthly work?) updated post containing all memes with less than ten comments each (once a meme reaches ten comments, it would be pulled from the list). The list would be linked in the list of links for the community.
Does anybody have any other ideas to improve the community? I'm open to suggestion here.
