One word, it took one word to set her at ease, his name. Usually she wasn't trusting, it was just this day.
His hand was cool against her warm one, it felt strange but safe. 'Oh Zesus,' she thought to herself.
"I am not usually this emotional, Alex, or charitable. I'm just tired. I don't have a human side, they killed it along time ago. This is pack behavior, okay guess it would have to be human as well." She sighed not liking the fact that she still showed human emotion.
"I should kill you for noticing," she teased, "but then maybe you'd be a better ally for now. I have a project, I could use some help with - and I'll cover your back. But then it's not safe being around me, things tend to die."
If Nick knew she was talking to him, he'd kill Alex. "On second thought, no you should go." That's what her words said, everything else about her spoke to the contrary, her tone, her body language, and most importantly her eyes.
"They'll kill you if they find you with me." Laurel looked at him, smiling regretfully.
