About: | Truth, when one thinks of truth they usually associate truth in terms of lying regardless if it is a lie of omission or an all out bullshit. It takes those threads of lies and truth bound together that make the tapestry of life. Sometimes the threads unravel; others hold fast. In everything there is truth and lies one coin with two sides. Our histories are based on this same principle; nothing is black or white, but varying shades of grey. In man’s attempt to understand the world around him; stories were created to explain the abstract concepts of the world into concrete terms everyday man could understand. In the oral traditions, stories were passed from father-to-son; tales changing with each generation, details forgotten, and inaccuracies included, and embellishments taking root in the seeds of each story. With every retelling, the tapestry changes, threads breaking, others repaired. This is how we learn from these stories. Such is the story offered here, one of truth, lies, and embellishments; the tale of two enemies in search of a common goal: the freedom to be a story of flesh and bone the story of Alex and Laurel. A tale whispered in low tones around the campfires, when the night is as dark as the belly of a whale; threads intertwining in their attempt to find the legendary Aingriv, the sword of life. Whoever wielded the Aingriv, was truly immortal, drawing the life source of any enemy. The Esiuol, a magical jewel from the sheath was all one needed to manipulate the sword of life. Uther Pendragon commissioned the Aingriv from a group of local gypsies known for their metallurgy. Once the fine steel was honed to perfection, then placed in the water, Merlin empowered the sword. It was obvious to Merlin Uther could never be trusted with such a sword, Merlin persuaded the Lady-of-the Lake to exchange the Aingriv with Excalibur, the sword of power.
