Ugly Tooth Riot had been a good time the night before, as thankfully, the rock band was nothing like the Spice Girls aside from being young women. Jamie's Monday morning negotiations had gone well too, as expected, as had getting in touch with Terry Boot through Vivian today. He'd worked late, because he had a lot of clients and thought maybe he needed to hire another Roberta to help with some of the client management. Anyway, Garret had brought him food as he'd worked through dinner, and by the time Jamie got home, he needed to unwind.
It was a Monday night, and just getting dark out, so hopefully the pool wouldn't be busy. When Jamie got to the roof, though, there was someone doing laps. Someone blond, and built, and with a form that Jamie recognized. He noticed details like that, and he and Barry had spent a lot of time in the water together, over the years. This wasn't the first time they would swim together in this pool over the last year of living here either. Still, there wasn't really anyone else around, so Jamie just watched Barry for a couple of laps, taking in his rhythm, his strokes. Watching all those muscle work. Certainly, Barry was an incredibly fit man and Jamie had never stopped being attracted to him. Physical attraction had never been a problem between them. There had just been too many ways that they hadn't been at the same place at the same time. But they'd been friends for years before they'd gotten together, and they were still friends after. It was just a little different than it had been before. Now, not that he regretted anything, sometimes Jamie couldn't help but wonder about the path they didn't take.
Jamie pulled his shirt off, left it on a chair, and slipped into the water. He waited a moment and then splashed his hand near enough Barry passing by to let him know there was someone else in the pool, not quite brushing his old friend's arm under the water.
