"They might. They've got the raw potential, that's for sure. And you know I've got a knack for spotting that," Jamie said, smiling and nodding as Barry agreed to check out the band with him. Friends did that. Jamie did things like that with friends all the time. "I'll keep you posted then."
Jamie listened without judgment and considered Barry's comments. He knew Barry took his career seriously. That had always been a point of mutual respect between them, even if that meant different things to both of them. Jamie pondered the situation as they tread water together, and wondered if Barry was blaming himself for the team's discombobulation. Being the captain carried a certain weight, after all, but sometimes teams just got out of sync.
"That's rough. A brawl would be one way, but a bootcamp might be another. I know a good rural training camp might do wonders for team cohesion for a few days midweek. I was going to talk to Amara about suggesting it if practice didn't go well, but you're here now," Jamie said with a little shrug. "Any thoughts, Captain?"
