I'm slightly different from the one Steve knows.

James Buchanan Barnes. I was raised on an army base after my father died during a mission. I was fifteen when they picked me to become Captain America's sidekick. I was supposed to represent the opposite of the Hitler Youth. I think his was the same age as him and they'd been friends for years before he was Cap, so we differentiate there. But the one thing we both have in common is we'd do anything to protect Steve Rogers.

	I did that for a few years. I was presumed dead after an explosion, we were trying to take down this Nazi leader named Zemo. I was frozen not unlike Steve, and that's partially why I've survived the decades without aging much. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	People talking face to face instead of using technology all the time. Tech is easy to separate people from one another, keeping them strangers. Back in the day we didn't have any of that, if you wanted to say something to someone, you had to see them. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Cybernetic arm. I lost mine due to the explosion. You'll appreciate the EMP blast and electrical discharge. But you can't play with it, because it's attached to me, and I don't like people playing with it. I got it from the Russians. Also I trained Natasha to be a spy, so there's that.
