Characters: Christien and Marie Summary: Christien picks the wrong pockets
It was early in the morning and a prime time to pick pockets. This is what he did for a living but, as far as anyone else was concerned, he worked on computers. He was part of the geek squad to much of the world, but not many knew of his true career choice. He liked picking pockets shortly after the sun rose because most of the drunks were traveling home after a night in the bar. Easy targets. They would stagger down the sidewalk and not even realize that their pockets were empty. And if they did realize, half the time they would not remember when they would sober up.
Generally targeting the wealthy and bitter people, Christien thought he hit the jack pot with one guy. There was booze on his breath and, while fairly large, he staggered. Christien worked up his superhuman speed to go around the guy and fetched his wallet in the process. However, he was not expecting the man to grab a hold of him. Suddenly the superhuman speed meant nothing and Christien was dangling his feet as he hung in mid-air, his shirt collar in the grasp of the large man.
"I guess you dropped this?" Christien handed the wallet to the man, but the man only tightened Christien's collar. Yep. This would be a doozy to get out of.
