"Thank you." She didn't think she looked like anything special, but she accepted the compliment without argument, closing the door behind him. She led him in toward the kitchen, the scent of food in the air. Her house was strikingly bare, not much more than the provided furniture in each room. For having lived in the same place for over five years now, it hardly looked 'lived in' at all. Aside from a few packed boxes stacked near the front door, topped with a folder and a violin case, there was nothing else anywhere in sight that seemed to belong to anyone, let alone Daryn.
"How was your day? Can I get you a drink?" She frowned slightly for a moment, more at herself than anything else, and brushed it off quickly.
